Countryside peace is perfect location to visit the Loire Castles.
A sophisticated, bucolic hotel where attention to detail and friendly hospitality make one feel at home. The rooms are indeed different and spread around the property. We requested rooms with no steps and were accommodated.
Excellent bed quality (though the pillows may need improvement) and spotlessly clean.
The food was absolutely fantastic—from the sumptuous buffet to the lunches and dinners at the Auberge and up to the pinnacle of the Michelin rated Favori we cannot but rave about it all.
The personnel was uniformly kind and attentive.
The entire place felt peaceful and the myriad small details (from boardgames and galoshes in the castle) greatly contributed to the feeling of a luxurious vacation.
We would return here in a heartbeat.
A small note for older travelers: the showers felt a bit slippery and the gorgeous tubs may require extra care to get in and out without assistance. My elderly mom asked me to assist her and I am glad she did. A proper seat in the shower (rather than a rickety stool) would not have gone amiss and a handle to hold on to would have been appreciated.

A culinary disappointment despite the beautiful location.
A lovely wine list from the region. It is unfortunate that the service is unable to explain it. Even regarding the grape varieties, there is a significant lack of precision. But the main flaw is the management of the cooking. A veal chop clearly from a nice local source, so overcooked that it has lost all interest (110 € for 2, after all). And the duck breast was also much too cooked. In summary, a beautiful place but approximate service and disappointing cuisine.

Overrated. Avoid.
What a massive disappointment after leaving Les Sources de Caudalie Our “prestige” room we small with a terrible view of dried out plants. The desk service was awful. We asked for help with tours and they called on place and said “all booked or not running”. Didn’t offer to try other options. The food at the restaurants is mediocre at best and the service is worse. Severely understaffed in the restaurant at dinner. The bar tender Frederick was the only person who really treated you like a valued guest. And oh yeah the phones in the rooms never worked and I had to incur significant charges on my cellphone just to call the front desk or order room service. This is not a 5 star hotel in any way. Avoid. There are way better places to stay.

Luxury rooms and great food made for a very nice stay
Beautiful property with very clean rooms and a fantastic dinner made for a very nice stay. The grounds were very well maintained, the staff were very friendly, the room was very clean, and the dinner was fantastic. We were only here for a short one night stay but were glad we visited and were able to enjoy this special property. The primary drawback was the room wasn't ready when promised and it looked like there were other guests with this issue. The staff were very apologetic and made us comfortable while we waited.
The grounds are beautiful and felt very peaceful. If you're in the area, consider a stay and be sure to enjoy their great dining!

One of best places I have stayed in — will highly recommend to friends and family. The place is serene, staff is very accommodating, spa is very relaxing, the facilities and food are outstanding!! A great place to pick as a base for visiting all the chateaus in the area and come back to relax at this property!! Wish we stayed longer but we will definitely be back!
