Must-see stop

Excellent stay in this old hunting lodge nestled in a green setting. The house is furnished with great taste and the hosts are adorable. Our room was very spacious, overlooking the park. The breakfast is worthy of the big hotels, the "homemade" is appreciable. A real haven of peace.

Damage…

The site is well done, the photos are pretty.
When we arrive, the welcome is pleasant.
We have the impression that the photos posted on the site date from a long time ago...
The heating is out of service. Extra blankets are offered and additional heating unsuitable for the room, which is turned off upon our arrival. It might have suited us.
The door to our room does not lock, the cleanliness is not at all up to standard. The room shows traces of mold at the headboard, as well as dirt...
The bathroom is really dirty: hair, dirt, dust, toilet in a pitiful state….
It is 9:30 p.m. despite the late hour and the fact of having to find emergency accommodation, we decide to go and talk to the owner about leaving the premises. She makes no argument about what we explain to her and says goodbye.
We are very surprised by the many positive reviews and strongly advise against this guest room at the price of €160 per night!

Special

This was our second visit to the wonderful La Jagee. We stayed 4 nights - should have stayed longer! The hosts treated us with such care and hospitality. They want their guest have the best possible experience on their holiday. Big King size beds (hard to find in France) Big private rooms in the private wing of the house. The history of the house is interesting. Wonderful breakfast. We also booked delicious dinner 3 of the 4 nights. (On the other night we ate at the nearby Michelin star restaurant. La Jagee was a much better dining experience!) We look forward to another holiday at La Jagee. There is much to explore and enjoy in the area. The couple that owns this property excel at making guests feel welcome and appreciated. We will return!

If you are looking for something out of the ordinary - then this is your place!

Found this charming B&B by coincidence and were intrigued by the fact that it is run by an Australian couple! Not your average hostess and host in the middle of the Loire Valley. Very warmly welcomed by the Kerries and their dogs. You can really feel the history of the house and the pieces of Australian art complement the place. If you stay, do take advantage of the table d'hôte, as we did. The dinner was excellent and the company over Crément de Loire and local white wine was insightful. Good breakfast before we left for a whole day of motorcycle riding. We can highly recommend this B&B.

Wunderbarer Hide-Away im Herzen des Loiretals mit vielen Schlössern in der Umgebung

Wunderbares B&B in einem schönen Park mit altem Baumbestand. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes altes Jagdhaus. Die Eigner stellen ihre aussergewöhnlich interessante und beeindruckende Privatsammlung von Aborigines-Kunst in den Räumen aus. Sehr herzliches und gastfreundliches Eignerpaar.
