Ski holiday with teenagers
We booked a week's skiing, staying at the Domaine de L'Arselle apartments with Crystal. At just over £2,700 we had a great week, with lift passes and lessons for the children included. Don't expect the highest quality accommodation. It was perfectly fine for us, and would have been comfortable for four, although the cleanliness was not the best and there were a few minor defects. The resort itself is quiet, with the usual small Sherpa store and a few bars and restaurants. As for the skiing, even though it was the last week of the season there was plenty of good snow into each afternoon and the slopes were groomed each night. All in all, good value for money and I would go back to the resort again. Just take your own mugs if you want a decent sized coffee or tea, download a few programmes to watch in the evenings before you go and don't expect much higher in the way of apres ski!

Skiing in chamrousse France March 2015
We booked the marmotte apartment through the chamrousse tourist website. It was advertised with pictures and was good value for money. We were 4 adults and this is what it was advertised as. When we got there it had a rickety old bunk bed and a sofa bed. It would have been fine for 2 adults and 2 children.
Despite this it was well located, and well stocked in terms of the kitchen and appliances.

Great holiday in the snow
After reading reviews of the apartment in le domaine de arselle there was a worry that they wouldn't be up to scratch. What we got instead was an excellent holiday away and a great place to stay right next to the ski lifts.
The Crystal Ski rep made us aware of everything needed to know and was a great laugh organising events to keep the evenings interesting.
Food in the surrounding bars/cafes was a bit on the expensive side but not unexpected when staying in a resort, and there was plenty of choice available to eat.

2nd time better or worse ?
Back again after two years and resort just as lovely as 1st time around.
Great ski ing second time as diff conditions changed many of the runs.
Thomson put us in same apartment again which was near ski lift and school after req for same area so good but overall Thomson were very poor.
Disaster of an 8hour delay got us to resort at 1am so we lost first day really and no real apology from Thomson .
Only Thomson do here so stuck really unfortunately but we are going elsewhere next time.
Apartments fine again.small warm and quiet.
Nice balcony in sun lovely.
Take kettle as none also no mugs so pack some.
Local shop great bit pricey but ok for essentials.
No real restaurants and take away rubbish when busy ( all time)so don't bother.
No bars so not great if this is your thing.

Great for the slopes, not for facilities
I recently stayed in these apartments and will break down my review for ease of understanding
Location: -
This is a very small resort, and I mean very small. One bar called K-Dox, another in the opposite direction but this is closed most of the day and does open in the night for a few hours. Depending on which apartment you stay in will depend on how close you are to the slopes.
We stayed in block E, next to the ski hire shop, and also next to the ski lift so we were very pleased with the location of the apartment
The only shop in the resort is about a 10 minute walk away. It does open early but closes around 12pm-4pm, the atest is closes is 7:30pm, so make sure you have all the things you need.
Accomodation:-
The apartment was very small considering it had to fit 4 of us. Prepare for the cramped conditions if you stay here. Bathroom and toilet were in separate rooms which is good as someone can use the toilet and bathroom at the same time instead of having to wait
The room does come with a microwave and electric cooker, but no oven, no kettle or cups. so you will have to boil the water in a saucepan but will then have no mugs to drink out off... hmm - The room does have a TV but costs 35E for the week, thankfully we had a laptop to watch some movies on
Usually the apartment doesn't supply towels but this year our tour operator supplied them
Facilities:-
Staying at these apartments gives you access to the leisure facilities, which include a heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna, as well as a gym
The pool was heated, but not hot enough to stay in very long before making a quick get away to the warmth. The jacuzzi you have to fight to get in as it is always full of people so I never had the opportunity to try it out, and the sauna was just as busy. I did check out the gym and it was basic if you wanted to do fitness whist on holiday
From our apartment it was a 10 minute walk to the pool.
BE WARNED: You can not enter the pool area unless you wear speedo's or fitted skin tight ones. Even if you do not intend to swim, they will throw you out, I seen a few people getting asked to leave.
