Lunch discovery in love

Good address in Barbotan

Very good value for money, quiet hotel, spacious ground floor room with nice bathroom, swimming pool, free parking nearby. The restaurant offers excellent cuisine.

Not a bad hotel, though rather basic

I stayed at the Hotel Aubergade in September 2013 during a bike trip around France. I didn't know what to expect in Barbotan-les-Thermes; when I got there, I saw that there was a huge range of accommodation, from low-budget places to the heights of luxury.
The Hotel Aubergade fell somewhere in the middle; it looked a little older than many of the hotels further from the center, and was a little worn. When I got to my room, it was small, basic (almost spartan), but clean and sufficient for my stay there. I don't recall there being any air-conditioning (it was very hot during my stay), but the doors opened into an "open-locked" state that made me feel safe, but let the air in.
The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. A pool was available, though I didn't use it.
If you're looking for a simple, basic accommodation that is clean and well-priced, this hotel will serve.

Good value for money

We stayed here 2 night whilst we explored the area. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly - they even loaned us a corkscrew to open our own wine bottle (all the rooms have a veranda or little patio area with table and chairs.) The rooms were average size but contained everything we needed. The swimming pool was just outside our room and was a lovely place to relax at the end of a day's exploring. Breakfasts were really good and served in the lovely restaurant at the front of the building. It is well placed, within easy walking distance of all the amenities at Barbotain-les-Thermes. We will be staying here again!
