Brilliant!

We stayed one night with my wife in Mäntylän tila on our vacation road trip. Wish we had more time and the weather was better, as the countryside accommodation and surroundings provided by Mäntylän Tila were lovely. Surrounded by idyllic fields and there was even a outdoors swimming pool next to it. And to top it all the delicious home made breakfast (overnight porridge, home made bread and Karjalan Piirakat)!
Highly recommend and will definitely stay again when visiting west coast.

Walk into the past

Old house restored and been in the family for generations. Nice convenient kitchen area near the rooms. Breakfast is extra, but well worth it with homemade bread, etc. Got to see two cranes in the field

A wonderful gem in the Finnish countryside, but you'll need to be travelling by car.

This property is about 30 - 40 mins drive south of Vaasa, and is right in the countryside. The local village has only 350 residents. It is an old farmhouse with other buildings, modernised a little for tourism, but retaining so many of its traditional features and charm. Our room was in a group of four, with a full sized kitchen available to use. The breakfast was fantastic - a great range of fresh produce, and home baked bread. Our hosts were delightful, friendly and happy to tell us about the history of the property which had been in the family for hundreds of years.
We stayed 4 nights, and drove to the various tourist sites, and just cruised and cycled round the countryside.
The beds were narrow, but quite comfortable, however noise from the next room travelled easily through the thin walls (luckily we only had neighbours for 1 of the 4 nights.) Additionally, the curtains were quite thin, so if you are not used to the midnight sun during summer, it could be a problem getting to sleep at night. Overall, a lovely stay and a change from the predictable city hotels.

Excellent Hospitality!

This turned out to be a hidden gem during our vacation. We stayed only one night, but looking back, we probably should have stayed a couple more! Our hosts were awesome and not only provided a great place to sleep and rest, but also allowed us to use their very rustic and neat wood fired sauna. In the morning, we had a feast of various local foods from the region including fresh juices, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, porridge, among other things! Enough food for 10 people, when we only had 4 people in our party. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were well appointed recently refurbished and modern given the age of the structures. The main house was decorated with period related antiques and clippings about the history of the house and the family that has lived here for a very long time. We were very very pleased with the accommodations and would highly recommend staying here.
