I needed a Hostel at a fair price as I was travelling alone. Opted for a 4 bed dorm with free breakfast. Everything was great but the most important thing for me was the close bus route No. 600 which goes to the Airport. Perfect , with bus stop less than 10 minutes away.
Also late bar open and kitchen facilities if required.
24 hour convenience store next door , superb Portuguese Restaurant across the road and also a Rock Bar.
Didn't use public transport but walked everywhere in the City that I wanted to visit within easy distance from the Hostel.

This place is suprisingly good. Even if the rooms might feel big on paper, they are divided in 1 bunk compartments which gives some privacy. As the hostel is big there is plenty of space to move and the common area/bar downstairs was nice. The location is perfect to avoid hustle and bustle of downtown but close to bar area Kallio and well connected to the airport and and train station. Highly recommend.

Bad hostel

We went to this hostel with school for a week. It was full of junkies and homeless people. As a woman, you're certainly not safe here.
The reception people are very uninterested.

The hostel is well connected for public transport - 5-15 mobs depending on which one you need. It's clean and the staff are very nice. One thing to hear in mind is that the doors are very heavy, so they slam shut alot, so definitely bring ear plugs! This was enough for me as I slept well.
The only thing I didn't like is that some if my fellow travellers found it amusing to bang on the door to the room I was staying on one night and try to kick down the door of my neighbour's room on another night. Obviously this is not down to the hostel this is other travellers, but certainly not ideal.

Staff were so nice and it was super clean just didn’t get to see light for a while as rooms only have 1 window
