Not good experience
This hotel is an old building in Helsinki superb. The location is quiet 30 minutes walk to Messukeskus. There is a direct bus line 615, 617 heading to airport (40 minutes) and tram 7 to to city centre. The stop is 10 minutes from the hotel. Don’t forget to wave by hand to the driver early in the morning or evening to stop the bus or tram :-) The room was not clean, dust was on the floor and furniture. The equipment is far away from new. It seems like the life of the room stopped in 90s. There was cold in September. I had to ask for extra heater to sleep. On the other hand, the breakfast was really good. The coffee was better then average. WiFi slow but for emails fine. Streaming wasn’t possible. With the price 100 EUR/night it was overpriced, but when you travel on budget, there are not many better options in Helsinki.

Super friendly and helpfull hotel stuff
The rooms and dinning place are very clean. The hotel is well equipped. For a reasonable price you get an A+ travel and hotel experience.
And the very best about Ava Hotelli?
The hotel stuff. They are extraordinary nice and ready to help you. I have forgott some clothes in the drawer. Just after exchanging few emails, the receptionists arranged the cargo to my home address. Quick, for a good price and with a goodwill.
A special kudo to the whole front desk team!

Very good
Searching for a cheap single room, I booked the Ava hotel. It is relatively close to Helsinki Central Station, approximately 5 bus stops, with very regular services. It is built next to a large park, which makes it very quiet and relaxing. I was delighted to find that the room I booked had two beds, which had a nice view of the park. All the necessary comforts were included.
Breakfast very good with good variety, staff smiling, polite and helpful.
I find it a good choice, as its price is quite friendly to the average European. I would go back with great pleasure.

Simple Accommodation
Stayed 2 nights at the Ava in November 2018. It is basic no frills accommodation.
Room and tiny bathroom reasonably clean. Bed fairly comfy. I seem to recall my room wasn't made up when I stayed but as it's only a duvet I easily made the bed myself.
Hotel staff pleasant and helpful and speak good English. Breakfast was ok nothing special. Do try the porridge and local breads.
I only went to Helsinki as I wanted to fly on an A350 aeroplane but was glad I went as it is a lovely city! I really enjoyed Helsinki and want to go back. I would stay at the Ava again as it was great value for money and transport links to /from airport and city can't be bettered. I found Helsinki to be reasonably priced I was expecting it to be very dear being Scandinavia but no, a beautiful salmon salad cost me EUR 11.95 and a big cup of tea was EUR1.00 (yes really) in a beautiful and very popular chandeliered cafe!
