Practical Stay in Cairo โ€“ Good Rooms, Average Building

We stayed at Heritage Hostel in Cairo for three nights in a private room with an attached bathroom. The room itself was good โ€” adequately spacious, a comfortable bed, and even a small balcony facing the road. It can be noisy during the day, but at night it was fine for sleeping.
The bathroom was functional, with everything you need, though the shower space was a little cramped. Given that most of the time in Cairo is spent sightseeing, the room served our needs well.
The only downside is the building itself. The entrance and lift can feel a bit creepy and rundown, which may be off-putting at first. However, once inside, the hostel provides a fairly comfortable stay at good value.
Pro tip: Choose this place if you want a practical base in Cairo and plan to be out most of the day.

I stayed in 3 different hostels/hotels in Cairo. This is the best place you can go in this price range. The beds are good, there is no bad smell and the bathroom is clean. The staff is friendly and it is a place where you feel comfortable. There is less street noise than other places. And they serve an excellent breakfast. Lots of variety and delicious local products. Thank you.

Comfortable stay

Located near the National Museum of Egypt. Set back about 20m from a busy street. Upon entry to the building it looked rather dilapidated. Took the elevator up to the 2nd floor. The hostel itself is well maintained. The staff were friendly & helpful.
I booked my room last year but why I was allocated a twin room escaped me. The room itself was of adequate size and clean. The fridge & TV worked fine. I did not use the aircon (winter time). The bed was comfortable with clean linens. Lighting was good.
The shower had excellent hot water & pressure.
The standard b'fast had various foods but I was content to just have fried eggs, pita bread & orange juice. Seating is limited at b'fast time.
Special shout out to Muhammed for his assistance.
Overall, I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay here.
