Friendly management

The management is very friendly and helpful to settle my phone charging issue, currency, and some inconvenience I faced. It is safe to stay for a short trip, adding that their location is very strategic where is near to Egystian musuem, street shops and Al Khalili market. You can definately feel a local life in this hotel.

Great value for money and soooo friendly

We chose this hotel based on the multiple positive hostelworld reviews, which we accurate reflections often hotel and service provided.
We arrived at the hotel in the small hours of the morning and so no rooms were yet available. Yet they gave us a quiet place to rest and made us feel safe. On waking, we were brought teas and breakfast and helped to organise reasonably priced tours with our own personal guide and driver. There was no pressure selling, simply an effort to assist us in making the most of our stay in Cairo. We felt we could easily have declined and would have been treated no differently.
The room was basic, but of a good standard - clean, comfortable, with decent wifi, en suite facilities, towels provided and air con. We had a room with no window, which meant a great nights sleep!
The guide and driver we were found, were knowledgeable, spoke good English and had our best interests at heart. We were taken to good but cheap eating establishments, protected from most pressure sales and tourist scams.
The hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Don't be put off by the entrance to the hotel, it's well worth the price for the staff, room and central location.

Filthy hotel, filthy owner.

My wife and I have stayed in many hostels all over the world and this was by far the worst experience ever. As soon as we got there late at night and after being in transit for 12 hours, the owner and his little tour salesman were giving us a salespitch for overpriced tours before we got the keys to our room. The room was noisy and dirty (even for Egypt standards). Everything here cost 3 times more than anywhere else we stayed in Egypt. The owner was hitting on my wife when I wasn't around, this digusted her so much that after our 2 day trip to Bahariya she did not want to stay there even for just one night. If this wasn't our first time in Egypt or if we had a backup plan for somewhere else to stay when we first arrived, we would've walked out the door just as soon as we walked in.

Decent place to stay

We had originally signed up to stay at the Bedouin Hotel, but the driver provided to us by the hotel took us here - they said our room at the Bedouin was "being painted". Not sure what that was about. Cairo Stars turned out to be o.k for what was needed, but I'm sure a better place could be found for the price. Our room was very musty, but quiet. The staff will give you a sales pitch of day trips they offer upon arrival - we did one - the Giza pyramids and Memphis - if you're not interested just ask to skip it. The staff was generally helpful, and they have a computer available for use, though it's a bit slow.
