It’s more than a stay. It’s the experience and little things.

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a hotel in years. Starting from how you are greeted upon arrival, during check in the bellman dressed in a formal uniform with a top hat presents you with a rose.
Rooms are awesome, even room service was exceptional and very reasonably priced.
Don’t hesitate to stay.

A wonderful stay in Quito

As a hotelier with an extensive luxury hospitality background, I rarely take the time to write reviews unless a team truly delivers something exceptional — and the team at JW Marriott Hotel Quito absolutely did.
From the moment I arrived, I felt the difference in service culture. Ysubel at the Front Desk was genuinely outstanding and honestly reminded me of my days with The Ritz-Carlton. Her attention to detail, warmth, professionalism, and natural ability to personalize the guest experience were world-class. She consistently used my name throughout the stay, anticipated needs before I even had to ask, and what impressed me most was how she physically stepped out from behind the desk to personally hand over my room keys and welcome me properly. Those may sound like small details to some, but in luxury hospitality, those details define the entire experience.
You can train procedures, but genuine hospitality and emotional intelligence cannot be taught easily — and Ysubel clearly possesses both. Marriott should take very good care of her, otherwise I may have to bring her to the United States and recruit her for my own hotel operations.
I also want to recognize Front Desk Manager Luis, who elevated the stay from excellent to truly memorable. From the very first pre-arrival email I received, his communication was polished, proactive, and incredibly attentive. Throughout my visit, he remained fully engaged in ensuring every detail was handled flawlessly. At one point, I needed transportation to visit a local friend, and Luis personally coordinated the hotel vehicle, ensured the driver had the exact address and directions, and handled everything with the kind of precision and ownership you typically only see in top-tier luxury properties.
What impressed me most about both Luis and Ysubel was not just professionalism, but genuine pride in service. Their ability to create warmth while maintaining luxury standards is exactly what separates great hotels from unforgettable ones.
The property itself is beautiful, but people like Ysubel and Luis are the real reason guests return. Marriott International is very fortunate to have individuals like them representing the JW Marriott brand in Quito.
An exceptional stay from beginning to end.

JW Marriot, Quito - not my cup of tea

Sorry to say I am not a fan of this Marriott. It was clean and efficient - the staff were all great. My problems were with noise and design and the fact that our wing was down to one elevator most of our stay. Worst room ever for light switches, such a bounty of them it took forever to get things on and off, way more complicated than necessary. I think there should be something IN the room that indicated the all Spanish TV can be changed to get several English stations - didn't find out till our 4th day. My biggest gripe tho was the noise. The lobby was uncomfortably LOUD altho the room was well soundproofed. The food in Botanica was plentiful but not very imaginative and very repeatitive. The JW Burger in the bar was delicious tho!

Comfortable Luxury and a Great Base for Exploring Quito

We stayed at the JW Marriott Quito before continuing on to the Galápagos and found it to be an excellent base for exploring the city. The hotel is conveniently located between the historic center and the financial district, making it easy to get around Quito. It was not recommended to walk around the area where the hotel is located.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed, with great views of the city and surrounding Andes. The hotel itself feels more like a resort than a typical city hotel, with attractive gardens, a large outdoor pool, several restaurants and bars, and an executive lounge for eligible Marriott Bonvoy guests.
A qualifier on the lounge was they charged for certain beers, and was more expensive than if I had purchased it in the bar downstairs.
Service was consistently friendly and professional, and transportation to the historic center and other sights was easy to arrange. Overall, the JW Marriott Quito is a very comfortable choice, particularly for travelers spending a few days in Quito before or after a Galápagos trip.

Amazing and Safe property in Quito

We were upgraded to the 9th floor, which is where the Club Lounge is. So we had breakfast there most mornings. and Appetizers for dinner several evenings. The tub in the bathroom was awesome. The staff was extremely helpful and capable. I was able to work in the lounge a few hours a day. There is a really nice deck up there. The pool and hot tub were nice on the warmer days. There are some car/ drivers who are approved and vetted by the hotel. We used Abraham once, then kept requesting him to take us around. We were short on time one day, and arranged a Middle of the Earth trip with him. If you message me, I can give you his WhatsApp, and he will pick you up at the airport, etc..... And of course, you earn Bonvoy points.

Very good location
