A perfect choice for families with children.
We stayed there from April 9–13, 2026, with my 4-year-old daughter. Although our departure is tomorrow, I wanted to share our satisfaction without delay First of all, it's a really great choice for families with children. My daughter was incredibly happy from the very first moment and her excitement never waned throughout our entire stay, which was the most important criterion for us. The reception staff were very polite and helpful; we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Room cleaning was quite good on the first day, but it could have been a little more attentive on subsequent days. We noticed the trash was left in the room on the last day, which was a minor drawback but didn't significantly affect our overall experience. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel, I would definitely recommend it, especially for families with children.

Very disappointing experience at LEGOLAND Resort Billund
We had a very disappointing experience at LEGOLAND Resort Billund. We paid more than €700 per night, so we expected a much higher level of service and an experience that truly felt premium. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed.
The rooms and hotel itself were nothing special and did not feel like what you would expect from a premium family resort at this price. We have stayed at Disneyland Paris, Nickelodeon Hotels(Punta Cana and Turkey) & Resorts, Land of Legends and other family resorts, and honestly, the overall experience at those places was 10 times better.
Even something as simple as parking was poorly explained. There was no one available to properly explain the parking rules, where to park or how to pay. For a resort charging more than €700 per night, this should be basic guest service.
Another disappointment was the early park access. You can enter LEGOLAND 30 minutes before the official opening time, but the rides are not open, so there is very little benefit. At Disneyland Paris, for example, you have an hour of early access where you can actually use the time to get onto some of the popular rides before the crowds arrive. That makes a huge difference.
The hotel also has very little for children to do after the park closes. Apart from a few LEGO boxes, there isn't much entertainment or play opportunity. We have stayed in many 4-star Kinderhotels in Germany where there is much more Legos for children to play than in a Lego Resort.
Even the welcome gift was disappointing. The children received two small LEGO boxes that cost around €2 each. Considering that we paid more than €700 for one night, this felt rather underwhelming and did not create the feeling of a special premium experience.
We have stayed at Disneyland Paris, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts and Land of Legends, and for us, all three offered a much better overall family experience. The service, facilities, entertainment and attention to children were significantly better.
LEGOLAND Resort clearly wants to position itself as a premium experience, but unfortunately, we found it far from premium. For the price, we expected much more — better service, better hotel facilities, more activities for children, better organisation and, overall, a much more special experience.

Wonderful hotel, food no
Truly magical hotel, with themed rooms with attention to detail. Both the property and the rooms are beautiful and, in this respect, I really have nothing to report.
I am not giving 5 stars exclusively because of the food, which in my opinion is definitely improvable. The breakfast had little variety and, for convenience, we had dinner at the hotel buffet for three nights, spending over 100 euros for three people each time. Unfortunately, for all three nights, we found practically the exact same food. Considering the price as well, a little more variety would certainly be appreciated.
Furthermore, the park closes at 6 PM or 7 PM depending on the period and there is practically nothing in the vicinity of the hotel. If you don't have a car, therefore, you are almost forced to have dinner inside the property. Precisely for this reason, it would be even more important to offer a more varied selection, especially for those staying for more nights.

Nice experience
Beautiful, well-maintained, large themed rooms that are very well-kept; the only flaw is that you cannot book restaurant times in advance from home and it is not coordinated by the hotel reception.

Great LEGO Theme, Poor Value Overall
I have three boys, and one of them had already enjoyed LEGOLAND Billund when he was four. Now that his younger brothers were old enough to enjoy it as well, we decided to spend two days at LEGOLAND and make the experience more special by staying at the Castle Hotel in a Dragon Knight Superior Room.
The room itself was spacious and looked very much like the photos, and naturally the LEGO theming was exciting for the children. Unfortunately, beyond the theme, the overall hotel experience was quite disappointing.
The room amenities were surprisingly limited. There were no slippers, and when I asked reception, I was told they had completely run out. For a hotel at this price level, that is difficult to understand.
The shower was another major disappointment. The bathroom had an old-fashioned shower curtain setup that made it almost impossible to shower without getting water all over the floor. It felt more like something from the 1980s than what you would expect from a modern family hotel.
Both breakfast and dinner at the Knight's Buffet were a big letdown. The selection was extremely limited and, more importantly, the quality and taste were poor. Considering the price of the stay and the captive audience of families staying at the hotel, the food offering should be considerably better.
I do, however, want to recognize the restaurant staff. They were hardworking, friendly and doing their best. The quality and variety of the buffet is clearly not their fault.
The biggest advantage of the Castle Hotel is its location. LEGOLAND is only a very short walk away, which is extremely convenient when travelling with children.
Overall, though, the experience did not live up to expectations. The concept is fantastic and the rooms are fun for children, but once you look beyond the LEGO decoration, the amenities, bathrooms and especially the food offering fall well below what I expected for the price.
