TERRIBLE! DO NOT BOOK

I wish I had read these reviews prior to booking!! This place is a sham!!! DO NOT USE!!! We booked via booking.com which states the accommodation is right in the centre of the palace which is what we wanted. IT IS NOT. Their stated location is a tiny tour booking office.
When we arrived we were told they had a problem with our rooms and tried to send us to a very cheap / basic apartment outside the city. I complained (given I had paid €700) and they found us somewhere better but it was still TINY - NOT in the palace and NOT AT ALL LIKE THE PICTURES.
This was supposed to be a luxury break for us but it was AWFUL.

DO NOT RECOMMEND

Horrible experience. We arrived and told they told us they didn’t have our apartment and wanted to give us another one 23km away from the city center. The manager, Zdenko, was VERY rude. He started yelling at us and wanted to throw us out on the street with two little girls while we were trying to find a new hotel in Split during high season. This was the worst experience of my life. DO NOT STAY HERE. I’ve been reading other reviews and apparently this happens a lot, so what they do qualifies as a scam. They offer you something else, then when you arrive they say the apartment is not available and give you something very far away from the city center. They said the apartment was trashed and that is why they couldn’t give it to us, which I don’t believe was true. While we were trying to figure out what to do they were laughing at us and not being helpful.

Absolutly terrible!

We did not get nearly we paid for. We had to walk out of the city center to find the apartment. Two of the beds included in the "6 beds" were sofas. A chair broke on the first day almost causing a friend to hit his head on some concrete steps in the kitchen. The bathroom was not clean and way way worse then shown on the pictures. The host was almost impossible to get hold of and when we did he was only being rude.
I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Avoid

Avoid this place at all cost! This is a total scam, the photos do not match the apartment. Six of us booked the apartment and what we got did not match at all the standard in the photos. We got a apartment that was so bad so nasty and it also had two chickens and a rabbit in the backyard. The host was impossible to get hold of we received our keys from a “friend”to the host. When we spoke to the host on the phone he said he will we will get compensated but he never gave us back our money and we couldn’t cancel the booking.

BAD EXPERIENCE

Upon arrival in Split we were told due to a suspected Covid 19 case we would not be able to stay at the property. This immeadiately rang alarm bells as before booking I checked reviews and all were positive on booking.com however a friend I travelled with checked on Tripadviser and there were a few reviews previously that stated similar circumstances. Unfortunately it was too late to cancel and as the negative reviews were from last year we hoped things had changed. WRONG!
There were 9 of us that travelled, 5 adults and 4 children. We were told there were 2 other places we could stay but we could not view them until 2pm! (We landed in split at 9.30am) The weather was extremely hot (30 degrees) and we had to find a restaurant to sit in and wait until we could view the properties.
We were then told only 2 adults could view the properties and the rest would have to continue to just sit out in the sweltering heat and wait! When we challenged this we receieved a very hostile and rude response which was something along the lines of 'well just forget it, find somewhere else' after we had waited hours with young children in the heat! Absolutely disgusting and shocking customer service.
We were finally able to view the properties, the first one was very basic and was two apartments that split our group up - we declined.
The second accomodated us all together and was again nowhere near the standard of the pictures in The Diocletian collection. There was air conditioning downstairs but upstairs was like a sauna!
The majority of the first day was taken up trying to sort this out and not once was an apology offered. As people stated in their reviews, I am not convinced The Diocletian Collection is owned by these people, it is far too coincodental that so many people arrive and there is a problem that requires alternative accommodation.
In summary, we were unable to stay where we booked and were given a basic replacement with an extremely rude host that was willing to leave families with young children with nowhere to stay.
