Very nice hostel run by a young couple, Bei Ma and DuonJi. They have 2 cute dogs and Xiao He are very friendly with guest.
All room, bathroom, common area so clean. Highly recommend stay here

You can stay in a hotel but, why would you when you can stay at your friend's home? This is the atmosphere at Up North Hostel while you're On the Road!
PeiMa, Dorje and the dogs, are so accommodating and create a beautiful environment for their Hostel.
You step downstairs and walk right into the night market, but upstairs it is serene.
There is great wifi and good water pressure. And, the community room is a wonderful library/studio den.
One of the nicest stays ever in my travels!

Up North is perfectly located at the night market and a 5-10 minute walk from the buses to Mogao, Railway, Airport, and Mingsha. There are a ton of food vendors and merchants to purchase from.
The hostel is on the second floor and operated by a cool couple inspired by the Beats and their border collie. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the spaces are clean, and the communal spaces are very cozy. The price is relatively high but is totally worth the convenience and service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hostel is uniquely artistic with a charming fusion of Western design, setting it apart from others. A highlight was our wonderful conversation with the lady boss, who was delightful. Cleanliness is impeccable—a definite 10/10. We also appreciated the luggage storage service while we toured the desert. The location is excellent within the market, but do note that you need to take a short walk to the main road for taxi access.

Best hostel I've stayed at in China. Perfect location, great vibe, bed very comfortable, bathrooms and showers very clean. The staff speaks great English!
