The smell of marmalade

Such a pleasure to stay here. Ricardo and Jordan have made us feel very welcome. The breakfast is incredible, especially the eggs. Rooms super clean and comfortable, lovely garden with secure parking, kitchen for making a meal or a tea. I will not forget the smell of cooking marmalade!

Cozy and well located accommodation in Vicuña

The Inn is steps from the Gabriela Mistral Museum, on the street of the same name that leads a couple of blocks to the square and good restaurants in the sector. The Inn staff is very friendly and attentive. There is a common area (living, kitchen) that allows passengers greater comfort and independence. The room has a TV, fan and a small frigider that allows keeping food and liquids at good temperature. It's a good price/quality option.

The best hostel in South America

The words in this review will never do justice to our incredible stay at Hostal El Colibri, or do justice to the hospitality of Richard and his excellent staff. Richard is not only the best hostel owner we have come across during our travels in South America, but he is one of the most special people I have ever met in my entire life. The Elqui valley and Vicuña is a beautiful place with a unique energy - and Richard makes you feel this from the moment you are introduced. He has tons of recommendations to make your trip to the valley perfect - whatever you would like to do. If I could give his hostel 100 stars I would - oh, and seeing the stars in the Elqui valley is a MUST. Likewise, the Lebanese breakfast offered at the hotel is a must. Thank you Richard for a stay I will never forget.

the beautiful meeting

Thanks to Richard (Mr. Richard...) for the lovely conversations and for making this place a magical place where you can relax for a few days. For my part, the meeting with Mr. Chaptini was one of the most beautiful moments of my trip.
Thanks also to Maria who takes great care of her hosts with a smile and remarkable efficiency. The homemade jams and bread are delicious and the Lebanese eggs......I brought the flavor back home in my memories..... The location of the hostel is ideal, everything can be reached on foot. The cleanliness of the room and common areas should also be highlighted.

We will never forget our time here.

After spending 4 very relaxing days we decided to extend our stay by 30 days because the place is clean, the air is so fresh and the food is great. The owner is a great host and speaks very good English as well as several other languages. The staff is simply Amazing! They have made us feel like family here, and to top it off (as our most memorable stay anywhere!) President Gabriel Boric spent last night here in the bungalow next to us. We were extremely honored to meet him at Hostal El Colibri.
