Unique little Hitel. I was in the upstairs room #4 queen bed and twin bed in the room. Private bath large closet, fridge . Bed has great bedding, comfy mattress, clean bathroom. There was a large kitchen den area at the end of the hall for cooking and coffee. Very safe area

In about 3 hours after we arrived. Staff member started knocking on the door stating we were in the wrong room. Being in bed after a long drive at this point we had to get up and go through the explanations. It turned out that the staff made a mistake.

It was comfortable but basic. Call front desk to check in. Met by a friendly guy, I think he was the owner, for the codes to get in and wifi password. Good option if the main street hotels are full.

A pleasant surprise

This small hotel saved us from an unexpected travel issue and was a pleasant surprise. It is located in a quiet residential area slightly on the outskirts, but the center is easily reachable on foot in 10-15 minutes. It is not a real hotel but rather a large house where the owners' family also lives, with single rooms reserved for guests on the second floor, each with its own private bathroom. It seems they also have apartments, but we did not understand where they are. It does not have a real reception, but check-in takes place in the living room on the first floor; you need to use an external intercom and, in case the owner is not on-site as in our case, he arrives in a few minutes. Everything is new, probably recently restored, the exterior with flower beds full of flowers, very well maintained. During our stay we changed two rooms and they were both nice, spacious, and clean, with everything necessary, including a small refrigerator. There was no coffee maker, but in the second one there was a microwave. On the second floor where the guest rooms are (5 in all) there is a small, perfectly equipped, clean, tidy, and nice common kitchen, with tea and coffee available and a small living room, and for us it was a wonderful surprise because we normally travel in apartments to be able to cook. So even though there is no breakfast (nor a breakfast room), you can easily prepare it yourself. There is also a kitchen on the first floor that is used by the family, but in case of need (as in our case, because one day the kitchen on the second floor was rented out along with three rooms for private use), it was kindly made available to us. You will be asked to leave your shoes at the entrance (it is best to bring a pair of slippers to leave at the entrance on the designated shelf), but for us it was not a surprise, nor an inconvenience, because throughout our trip between Canada and Alaska, even in the houses we rented, we were asked to do so, so we respected their customs without any problems. The owner, his wife, and his mother-in-law were always super kind and available for all our needs. The price is fair compared to prices in Canada, so we can only recommend it to you.

We had a great stay at Midnight Sun Inn in Whitehorse. We had a slight change at check-in and the staff were very accommodating. The rooms were clean and we were even able to do laundry there. It was also only a short walk to town and restaurants. Would 100% stay there again.
