Perfectly fine
St. Paul and you can't beat the price.
So this place has a lot of bad reviews, hut it was exactly what I was looking for. When I get a room at the cheapest motel in an area, I expect:
-a comfortable bed
-no vermin or filth
And that's it. Everything else is just gravy. This place was within 15 minutes of the powwow grounds, the bed WAS comfy, and I saw no vermin or mold/mildew or anything of the sort. If the cosmetics of a place are super duper important to you, then maybe this place isn't for you. But if you care about a place to sleep comfortably in St Paul, this place is ALL PERKS:
-good WiFi;
-all the streaming (to include Disney+);
-super hot water that doesn't run out
-convenient location
I stayed in room 218 in June 2026 and the proprietor was extremely friendly and accommodating, including checking us in way after hours and letting us check out a little late.
There's also a 7Eleven less than a block away and a gaming/Magic shop across the street which warmed my cold, nerd heart.
We heard from some locals that the Galaxy has a reputation for being friendly to drug users, but I didn't witness anything to lend credence to this assertion, but potential bonus: if you're looking to score, this might be a place.
If you're looking for the Ritz-Carlton... maybe don't go for the most affordable motel in Bumblefart, Alberta, 'cause this ain't it. But by no means is it bad, unclean, or unsafe. It's decent, ridiculously affordable accommodations with a comfy bed and all the amenities I personally look for.
This place was comparable to staying at someone's house. The sheets aren't pure white a million thread count Egyptian cotton with walls so soundproofed that the room is eerily quiet and you need to run the A/C just to drown out the oppressive silence (just me? Oh, well.), but they were clean and I felt like it was like the whole stay was akin to the guest room at your family's house.
I don't know why I only took pictures of "bad things," but let that serve as evidence that the minor cosmetic flaws weren't a big deal to me. I was also very tired.

The Room was nothing close to what the photos show. The only thing good about this experience would be the friendly guy at the reception. The rooms were not clean. Shower curtains had mold on corners, bedding had stains, fridge was broken trims and almost gave a deep cut. The room felt very claustrophobic. AC fan gets covered by oversized curtains. Room 114

far too expensive for what you get: noisy, run-down. Will not stay there again
