Delightful!

We loved staying here so much. The cactus room was adorable and very roomy. Adriana was always friendly and accessible during any communication I had with her. It was so nice being in walking distance of restaurants, shops, a bookstore, and more! Even in November, there was a lot to do in town. The Juniper was cozy and surprisingly quiet for being right in town. I highly recommend this location! We hope to be back someday for sure.

Beautiful with every detail accounted for!

We absolutely adored our stay here! Not only is it one of the most thought out rooms with everything you could need but they even made up a wonderful little bed next to the king size bed for our Frenchie Pedro. Loved the details in theme, we had the flamingo room! So lovley! The most comfortable pillows, large tv, fridge and freezer, coffee, tea, beautiful welcome basket of yummy snacks and champagne! Beautiful high ceilings and views of the pier. Location was a dream. With lovely hikes, restaurants and coffee nearby! We hope to visit again soon!

A perfect destination in this quaint Port town.

We stayed at The Juniper to celebrate a 70th birthday. The room was fabulous with its Rock and Roll decor. The owners had graciously placed a Happy bday balloon and a tray of treats on the bed; which we were so pleased to receive. Thank you so much.

Comfortable, convenient and adorable small inn.

We stopped for an overnight while we were on our way to Stratford. I can't say enough good about this place. Not only is it convenient, very comfortable, nicely decorated with all sorts of small extra touches, the hostess leaves clever little notes explaining the room and the entry hall. You can just tell this place is extremely well managed by someone who thinks of everything. Really one of the best small inns we have ever stayed in. The reservation and check in and check out process was easy and convenient. We would go out of our way to stay here again if we are in that part of Canada.

A Jewel in The Port

We have just returned from an excellent 2 night stay at the Juniper. We had the P room which is at the front of the building looking out on the harbor and the main street. It has 3 windows and offers a cheery bright view. At night the dark shades block out any light. Unloading and parking are very easy with a parking pass for the main beach lot a short walk from the building. Easy entry to the building and room with codes. A nice note and welcoming tray with cookies, chips and a small bottle of Henkle were a pleasant surprise. Our room had a decent size fridge. microwave and safe. A large screen TV with multiple channels provided entertainment. The king size bed was very comfortable and the temperature of the room easily controlled by a simple to use thermostat.
We stayed through the week and had no trouble getting into any of the restaurants or other businesses. However, I would expect things to be much busier on weekends and in the summer. Also, some businesses are not open Monday and Tuesday. We ate both nights at the Portside Social which is directly below the rooms. The menu and staff are top notch. Balzacs is across the street for a morning sweet to go with the in room expresso coffee. The Lock Street Brewery was closed during our stay but looked inviting.
There are plenty of things to do in the area. You can walk to the end of the long pier, walk on the beach or explore the old locks where the original Welland canal terminated. Remains of old Lock 1 are behind the abandoned textile building.
There are many other walking and biking trails in the area. One thing we did which we found worthwhile was drive to Lock 3 on the Welland Canal where there is an interesting museum and a viewing platform to watch the large vessels go through the lock.
And for any wine lover, there are lots of wineries to choose from. One which we enjoyed for tasting and lunch was Caroline just outside Virgil, but get the current Wine Country Travel Guide and pick your own. Another free option is to tour the new gardens at the Pillar and Post in NOTL.
In summary, I would highly recommend The Juniper but go before things get too busy in Port Dalhousie. It is a great base to see the Niagara area and Adiana is an amazing owner/operator.
