Perfect family stay

We stayed at Le Widor as a family of four for four evenings during our recent Quebec City visit. I won't repeat all the great things the other reviews say here-- they are all true-- from the spotlessness of the facilities, the charm of the house, the fantastic location (in a neighborhood that includes many locals), to Sophie's great gift for welcoming guests.
What may not be evident, from either reviews or website, is that there are two double rooms available on the first floor (Concerto and Hymne) that sit in a very private corridor, directly across from two bathrooms--a half bath and a full bath. Although not advertised as such, a family (such as ours!) can book both those rooms and have its own private suite, with sole use of the bathroom. I am sure the other guests were lovely but we hardly saw them because our accomodations were so private. It was awesome.
Also, anyone who stays at Le Widor would be well-advised to check out Aberdeen Glace (ice cream) just a few blocks down on Cartier-- our dessert-loving family went there three times, and by the third night they asked if we were locals. There is also an indoor food market (I don't recall the name) within about a block of Le Widor that would be easily to miss. Frequented by locals and has all manner of fresh meat and produce and some good coffee/pastry shops. I am sure Sophie can tell you the name!

Something Beautiful

My husband and I stayed at Le Widor for three nights as we explored Quebec City. It was perfectly located in the Montcalm neighborhood. Old Quebec City and all its splendor was a 20-minute walk. A 5-minute walk took us to Avenue Cartier (full of charming restaurants with excellent food), Musée national des beaux-arts (the Inuit art exhibit is a must see), and the Plains of Abraham, a historic park (with its gorgeous Joan of Arc Garden). Sophie is an excellent host. She has it all, from her friendly, authentic, and nurturing manner, to the beautiful rooms, scrumptious breakfasts, and local recommendations. The restaurants she recommended were excellent, as were the local sites. Sophie was ready to help with anything, including offering a paid laundry option and the number for a local cab company when we went to Montmorency Falls. It was a pleasure to return to Le Widor after a long day. We did not want to leave as Sophie and her team have created something beautiful.

Sophie is an amazing host!

Le Widor exceeded our expectations. It’s conveniently located for Quebec City touring, you can walk to everything, including great restaurants. Sophie, your host, is amazing. She suggests places to tour and eat, along with going out of her way to make sure your stay is without issue. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We paid extra for her breakfast; everything was homemade and delicious, well worth the money. I would definitely stay with Sophie again!
