Perfect Location

I loved it because of the perfect location. My room was small but had all I needed as a single traveler- even a wonderful balcony. I did need to climb two flights when going in and out and down three (from my room) to get to the shared kitchen. The only gathering space to join friends was in a walled garden outside which was a steep flight up from the basement kitchen. But very friendly, helpful staff and reasonable cost. Parking was not on site so drop off your luggage first!

Great choice for historic Quebec City

We stayed at this hotel (2 couples) for two nights to see and enjoy QC. It was a good choice. Affordable, clean, historic and comfortable. Staff were helpful and accommodating. (Note, there are no elevators due to its historic nature). A/C worked great which was appreciated as it was very hot weather. Easy walking distance to the center of the historic part of QC, with parks, plazas and the funicular to get down to the waterfront and back. What would have made it even better was if breakfast was provided. The early morning search for a restaurant that was open so we could begin our day of touring was a chore. Still, highly recommend this hotel for its location and accommodations.

A few positives did not outweigh the negatives.
The positives - great area to walk and see Old Quebec. Beautiful historic building, updated with modern amenities while maintaining the charm, good air conditioning and wifi, loved the private balcony off our room.
The negatives - no parking and nearby public lots we were directed to were all full so after unloading the car we ended up parking in a public lot at least a 20 minute uphill walk away. No fridge in the room was a major inconvenience. Room very small, bed not comfortable. Just espresso machine in room with only 2 pods, so no regular coffee for us in the morning and none set up in the lobby area for guests. No elevator in this historic building so second floor room required some lugging of suitcases etc. no offer or ask if we needed assistance upon arrival. Only 1 not so comfortable chair in room to sit.

Beautiful chateau in a gorgeous location. Unfortunately parking is challenging as we could not park outside of the building so you are walking blocks with your luggage and taking multiple trips. The room was also incredibly hot and the AC would not get colder despite multiple attempts. Overall beautiful property and great location.
