The windspire inn provides good moderately priced accommodation in Port Elgin. The Wi-Fi is excellent. There are ample choices on the TV. The location is fabulous as it is about a four minute walk to the main beach. Easy drive to many restaurants and shops.

The room was smaller than we anticipated; I suspect this had been a dormitory at some point. Nevertheless, they maximized the use of the space there was.

Worst place

I am submitting this report under “property not as described”. The accommodation we were provided did not match the listing in cleanliness, condition, layout, or basic functionality. We are not demanding travelers; our only expectation is a clean, safe, and accurately represented room. Unfortunately, this property failed to meet even the most fundamental standards.
Upon arrival, the check‑in process was highly concerning. The staff appeared confused, disoriented, and unable to complete basic procedures or answer routine questions. Their behavior did not reflect the professional environment suggested by the listing and left us uncertain about the overall management of the property.
The suite itself was significantly misrepresented. The listing depicted a clean, well‑maintained space, but the room we were given was cramped to the point that the bed occupied nearly the entire floor area. There were visible gaps in the flooring, indicating poor maintenance. The bathroom contained used shampoo, used soap, and a used shower loofah, clearly showing that the room had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival.
Additionally, the listing did not disclose any restrictions on climate control. The thermostat was set to 78°F, and when we requested that the air conditioning be turned on—after a full day of motorcycle travel in summer heat—we were told it could not be adjusted. This made the room unsuitable for occupancy and directly contradicted the expectations set by the listing.
Due to these issues, we declined to pay the remaining balance, checked out immediately, and secured alternative accommodations. We rarely submit negative reports, and we have never left a property after checking in. However, the degree of misrepresentation in this case warrants a horrible review.
We were fortunate enough to get a suite at the All-Seasons Motel and Patrick the owner was great to deal with

If you want to be close to the beach, this place is ideal. Not much else. The staff are friendly.

Windspire Inn was a great location. Only blocks from the beach. Our suite had a bedroom with queen bed, closet and TV. We were on the main floor with a door exiting to the parking lot. The seperate Kitxhen had a fridge, stove, dishwasher and kitchen table with 2 chairs. The kitchen was fully stocked woth cooking utensils and small appliances. We would definitely stay at th8s Inn again in the future.
