Lovely restored 19th C. home, centrally located within walking distance of downtown sites (parliament, museums). Lots of restaurants to choose from nearby. Very nice breakfasts in beautiful dining room, filled with antiques. Needed a bit of dusting to clear cobwebs from light fixtures!

disappointing and expect a lot of cash flow

The location is fine, the rooms are clean, and the young staff are decent. However, the hotel's practices are unacceptable: you are forced to pay a security deposit of several hundred dollars (in fact, the entire reservation, even if you have already paid!), and this "deposit" is held by the hotel for almost 15 days before finally being refunded after numerous reminders (a waste of time): unacceptable practices under the guise of security. All this after, of course, leaving a reasonable amount for the staff tip...in short, a unique situation during our entire stay in Canada and a deal-breaker for this establishment.

Old-fashioned and cozy inn

Inn with old-fashioned but comfortable decor. Cozy atmosphere. Quiet location but close to downtown Ottawa, perfect for exploring on foot.
Quick and no-fuss check-in; we didn't see our host for the rest of our stay.

Very beautiful inn in Ottawa

Very beautiful inn, excellent service. I highly recommend it for the decor and the cozy atmosphere.

I'm often disappointed by refurbished older homes, but this was 5-star. Consistently even hot water in the shower, excellent air conditioning. Free street parking. 20 minute walk to Parliament Hill, 15 to ByWard Market. Full breakfast was pretty good, but not 'full English'. Rooms are all different and well appointed. Lots of quality period pieces.
