Great reasonably priced place to stay. Clean and so close to everything. Staff was great. Loved how quiet it was and such a beautiful spot to watch the sunsets and sunrises. Worth the money.

Worst Experience Ever

The man at the counter is the most disrespectful person I have met over all my travels around the world. Unbelievable rudeness.
When I made the reservation, a guy in El Salvador (call centre and phone number I found for the Inn on the internet) did not understand where Truro was, misspelled it and even gave me a room in P.E.I and then misunderstood my credit card #. As a result my credit card was declined. When I got to the Inn, the counter Troll kept yelling at me and I mean yelling at me and kept repeating "Do you want the room or not"? After repeatedly yelling at me and telling me he didn't want to hear my excuses, I left the Inn to go to a much better hotel with nicer people.
I highly recommend you NOT book a room here and spend a night in the woods, because it will be a much better experience.

Run down and creepy

First thing we noticed on the portable AC unit was a big sign warning you to turn the AC off before you use the microwave or hair dryer. Yikes! There was no cable TV, no coffee pot, 2 thin towels, 2 tiny shampoo packets , no conditioner and a run down abandoned creepy restaurant in the parking lot. No queen beds, only 2 pillows per bed. They advertise 1 price then jack it up over $20 for every person staying. We could have gotten a much nicer room for $200 but we were tired from traveling all day and I think that's what they are counting on. Total rip off.

Sadly the scolding reception upon pushing the drive for 3 hours was uncalled for, I felt like I was belong scolded :-(

Terrible reception at 21:47 upon arrival… before 22:00 deadline! Which was updated to 21:00 as we were approaching from North Sydney ferry.
The gentleman was not friendly and neither was his partner!
Run down hotel but was clean.
- faucet in shower is needing repair!
Won’t be staying there again!

Always a Great Stay

We stayed at the Tidal Bore Inn for two nights in mid - July, 2026. This was our 5th or 6th stay at this hotel over the previous summers as it is a very convenient place to stay while travelling. We booked a ground floor drive up room and we were requested, and got, room #6, where we have stayed several times previously. Room prices are very reasonable, and often a $100 or more less a night compared to other hotels in the area.
There is a small fridge, microwave oven, television, and air conditioning unit in the room, and they all worked great. It was very warm out, and the room was quickly cooled down. The air conditioner works great.
Check in was quick and easy, and we left the key in the convenient drop box when we were checking out.
As usual, the room was very clean and well equipped, including the handy fridge and microwave oven. The TV worked well and there was a good selection of channels to chose from.
The bed was comfortable, the rooms are very quiet, and we never have a problem sleeping there. Once inside our room, we never heard any of the other guests besides or above us.
We love the view from the motel and like sitting out on the numerous chairs on the front lawn and enjoying a cold beverage. There is an ice machine in the office area that is easily accessed.
The hotel is in a great location. While not within walking distance, there are a number of gas stations, restaurants, groceries stores, coffee shops, and other businesses within a short driving distance of the motel.
The parking in front of the driveup rooms is one of my favorite features at the hotel. No one likes a parking lot with spots with narrow markings that result in the sides of your vehicle getting bashed as travellers lug luggage in and out, and kids get in and out of cars. There is a parking spot assigned to each drive up room that is very wide and eliminates having anyone having to park next to your vehicle.
I definitely recommend this motel and we will stay here again.

Very good location
