An unforgettable wellness escape with good vibes hospitality
My stay at The Stonewater was truly one-of-a-kind—from the thoughtful touches in the room to the deeply restorative spa and warm, intentional hospitality.
Crystal's communication was a highlight. She checked in when I had trouble getting to the property, proactively texted me about the lack of local food options (a super helpful heads-up!), and even followed up with the Coastal Rides number to ensure my ride back to the ferry was smooth. This level of care really stood out. She also let me co-work in the cozy common room next to the spa.
The motel room was equally impressive. The kitchen was fully stocked, the lighting and air purifier elevated the ambiance, and the blackout curtains made for an amazing night’s sleep.
The spa experience was magical. The embedded coloured lights in the trees created an incredible nighttime atmosphere - it felt like a true escape from city life with a little mystique. The sauna with panoramic forest views was beautifully designed, and the privacy of the entire spa area gave it the feeling of a secluded retreat.
Lastly, the entire property felt like a charming village. The funky branding on the tiny homes and trailers gave the place character and personality. Wandering through the campgrounds was a joy in itself. I even made friends with my neighbours who I realized know some of my friends from Vancouver...this place attracts likeminds and high vibes!
All in all, The Stonewater is not just a getaway—it’s a thoughtfully designed experience. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape or healthy fun with friends for the weekend to escape the noise and distractions from the city.

Cozy Cool Best place on the Sunshine coast ♥️
I stayed at this gem of a resort that is sincerely unique! I loved the self-check-in with wifi door locks, though meeting one of the managers/owners was fun as well…super interesting to hear about how they renovated the property to become a cool resort.
There were several choices for accommodation, including the cutest cabins, hotel rooms and a unique spa! Outdoors cedar hot tub, sauna in the forrest and cold plunge in a vintage tub! It was peaceful, with frogs croaking and several bird varieties chattering. I chose the motel rooms… beautiful sharp decor, super clean, retro red fridge, spa gowns, cozy queen bed and a super comfy mattress. The kitchen was well equipped to cook my dinner. The evening was capped off with a warm bath with a unique wooden bath caddy to accommodate my coffee cup and ipad!
I had not been further than Madeira Park and Stonewater was just 2-3 km further. I was so impressed to find this unique resort, only a short ferry ride out of Hirshoe Bay and then a 1 hr drive along the Sunshine coast.

Unwinding on the Sunshine Coast
We spent three nights at the Stonewater Motel in November and loved every moment. An easy drive from Vancouver, this cozy retreat perfectly blends rustic charm with modern comfort.
Our room was well-equipped yet felt delightfully vintage, like stepping back in time. The grounds are beautifully maintained—wild but inviting—and the spa is truly exceptional.
The surrounding area is just as charming. Don’t miss the nearby Skookumchuck Narrows Park and rapids, where we saw sea lions playing, countless species of mushrooms, and then wrapped up with a cinnamon bun on the trail. There are some tasty restaurants nearby as well, but this isn’t a place for packed itineraries—it's for slowing down and unwinding.
The owner’s warm hospitality made our stay even more memorable. Their stories and local tips added a personal touch that set this place apart.
If you’re looking for a unique and relaxing getaway, the Stonewater Motel is a great choice. We can’t wait to return!

Lovely, sweet little place to stay
Had a lovely stay at this little motel after a very disappointing one at the neighbouring Ruby Lake Resort. The manager was very accommodating and hospitable, and even accompanied my daughter and I for a short time by the on-site fire pit at my request (I was too scared to be there on my own with my daughter due to the possibility of seeing their resident bear, Bruno, who, much to the sadness of my daughter, never made an appearance - they described him as a large, scared raccoon). The private spa was very relaxing, and the room was very sweet.

Very nice - Good location
Family owned feeling. Great equipment with kitchen incl Krug coffee maker . Garden/Outside very nicely done/kept. There are also fire/grill opportunities.
Good location if on the way down back to Vancouver. 6-7 km away from Ruby lake. We would def stay here again!
