History, charm and delight!

This is one of many stays at this property but likely the last for awhile. Therefore I wanted to write a brief accolade about one of the most hospitable and warm hotels I have had the pleasure to stay in.
The customer service down to the wonderfully appointed comfortable rooms all add up to a relaxed pleasant experience. Saba and the front desk members are attentive and go above and beyond in making your stay perfect.
Thank you for providing exceptional service while in Halifax.

Central Heating and Cooling

We stayed in the main building for 3 nights. The location was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has central heating and cooling, so there is no opportunity to adjust the temperature in the room. The room was like fridge! If it were hot and sunny perfect, but the weather was unsettled with rain. The cool air flowed non-stop in the room and bathroom. The hotel must be aware because they offer portable heaters. The tiny heater warmed the room, but was a bit loud. During the night for safety we did not use the heater and closed the bathroom door. But in the early morning the bathroom was so cold. We had just returned from stays at 2 properties built in 1845 and 1879 and both had in room temperature controls. The room itself was nicely decorated, but the wing back chair seat cushion was in desperate need of new foam, it was completely flat from usage. Room 107 has no view, which was okay, but the pigeons on the window ledge cooing was not great. The hotel requests a $200 deposit, that can be used as a credit towards purchases, the deposit was pending on my credit card for 9 days after returning home. Unfortunately, the cold room overshadowed the uniqueness of this hotel

It was a cute boutique hotel.in the heart of the Harbour of Halifax. Walking distance to many places. It has a cute back garden to sit in. The room had a balcony. Great place

Lovely boutique hotel. Terrific location- 5 minute walk to waterfront. An absolute delight. Outstanding, in all ways!

Great value for a fantastic stay

We had a great stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable. Lots of storage for items. Loved the bathroom products. Many amenities were available in the room. It was quiet and peaceful so we slept well. The location is great, just a couple of minutes walk to the beautiful harbour front. The reception at front desk was speedy and courteous. No matter who we encountered during our stay, we always received great service. Loved the free coffee (tea is provided as well) in the morning. The free parking was a great perk. Excellent value. We would definitely stay here again.
