Lovely stay, Helpful staff. Wish there was an elevator but this young woman carried my 50 lb bag up the stairs which I was grateful for

Okay but far from what we expected

We recently stayed at The Baker, and while it is located in an historic building, it really is pretty basic and the housekeeping was far less than what we expected given the reviews. The bathroom in particular needed significant renovation as the tile around the bathtub appeared to have mold or at the very least significant discoloration which really looked like it hadn't had any maintenance in years. Further, the overall cleanliness of the room was subpar, with the window well very dirty as were most of the baseboards.

Good place to overnight

The room was spacious and clean with an en-suite bathroom. Facilities in the room included a coffee maker. Attached to the hotel is a bar where we went for a drink and the service was good and the server was very friendly. Although food is served in the bar we chose to eat elsewhere (no particular reason) and there was plenty of choice within walking distance.

Nice local hotel, parking is free, bar next door or more options walkable.
The staff are awesome and helpful
The room has been updated and is nice for price point, it was cleanish

Cute and affordable

On the cheaper side of things which is what attracted us first. The history and styling of the hotel was next.
Good location, off the busy main stretch, but close to everything. The AC was ice cold. Would recommend. Would return.
