A wonderful jungle experience – highly recommended!

Rainbow Lodge in Koh Kong is such a special and cosy place. With only eight bungalows, all built on stilts in the middle of the jungle, you really feel completely surrounded by nature.
Manager Piarom and his colleague Gee (Gerard) make sure you have everything you need. They are incredibly friendly, welcoming and both speak excellent English. Gee is originally from the UK but has clearly lost his heart to the Cambodian jungle – and to his Cambodian wife, who is Piarom’s sister-in-law.
We stayed on a full-board basis and the food was absolutely fantastic! In the evening, all guests eat together and enjoy whatever is being prepared that day: a delicious three-course dinner with a wonderful buffet. Because the lodge is so small and remote, evenings are all about good conversations, playing games and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
One of the highlights was the 2.5-hour jungle trek led by Piarom. We visited during the rainy season, so walking along the narrow jungle trails to the waterfall was a real adventure! At the waterfall, a delicious lunch was waiting for us in the boat, followed by the opportunity to swim. Afterwards, we travelled back to the lodge by boat. Expect to get wet and muddy, but that is all part of the experience – and luckily they offer a laundry service!
Everything at Rainbow Lodge is run with great respect for nature and sustainability. It is not a luxury resort in the traditional sense, but that is exactly what makes it so special. You are truly immersed in the jungle, surrounded by nature and looked after by wonderful people.
An unforgettable experience and a big recommendation from us! ️

The mighty jungle

We had such a wonderful stay in the Rainbow Lodge. We stayed for three nights and booked a kayak trip in the mangroves and a splendid hike in the jungle to see the waterfall. If you want to experience nature, this is the place to be. Pi Room and Gee are such experts guides and nice people. If you just want te relax: you can take a dip in the river. My kids (12 and 15) just could'nt get enough of jumping from the platform. To top this off, there is the delicious food (and special treats for fussy eaters...) Thanks Pi Room, Gee and the entire team of Rainbow Lodge to give us an unforgettable experience and to protect this valuable forest.

Disappointing

The place is worn down no aircon no refrigerator in the room wifi seemed only in the lounge and strongly limited. No daily cleaning. Staff super cute and helpful owner absent. Logically worked impeccably

Jungle expierience!

In the middle of the jungle, you can't see it, but when you get off the boat and literally walk into the jungle, you see the lodges.
We missed the air conditioning to be honest. It was very hot.
Lovely staff and a tip: go on an adventure to the mangrove and/or the waterfall. Food is delicious! Preserving nature is at the top of this list. Highly recommended.
