Very comfortable base for exploring Mondulkiri Province

The is a lovely place to base yourself to explore the Mondulkiri Province's attractions - including highly recommended Jahoo Gibbon Camp and Elephant Valley Project.
We booked direct with the owner Nicolas and he and his wife and son made us feel very welcome, including kindly collecting us from the bus depot in town, allowing us to keep baggage on site in our cabin when we went away for a couple of nights, extending our stay, providing assistance in arranging onward transport - and arranging to post some belongings we left behind on to our next location.
The cabins are spotless, spacious and comfortable with plenty of bedding and towels provided. The views from the cabin deck are spectacular and I imagine in hot weather the pool would be very much appreciated.
The family grow their own vegetables and make bread and you will get to sample this and the homemade jams with breakfast - which a small and is an extra charge ($3) but gets you going for the day.
There is also a meal offered each evening ($9) but guests should note that it does not come with a choice and whilst there are other options in Son Monorem, this is 20 minutes or so in a tuk tuk. We opted to eat a couple of times with the family and a few times we ate in town after our day-time activities before returning to the accommodation.

Beautiful eco accommodation

Nice eco hotel. With about 6 nice lodges. Simple but clean. Beautiful location on a hill in the middle of nature. Very friendly people. You will receive excellent help. The food is healthy. Fresh and mainly from our own garden. Quiet environment. For the nature lover.
2 points for improvement: WiFi is available but quite weak. Beds are, as often in Cambodia, hard.

Peaceful, relaxing and idyllic stay at Sumeru

Staying here was like visiting family, we had a lovely, memorable trip and were disappointed to leave. The resort is brand new with great facilities. We really enjoyed the pool area. We booked a Deluxe Double Room with Balcony which had a luxurious bathroom and the best water pressure I've had in Cambodia. It feels good to support a new, family run business. Nicholas and Sanet went out of their way for us, e.g.: picking us up from our drop-off in town, organising our various day trips (including a half day Elephant Valley Project tour the day before) and made sure that I had pots of tea when I was feeling unwell. We also enjoyed their delicious dinner menus - a Cambodian curry and ratatouille the next night, fresh fruit and breakfasts featuring freshly baked bread and homemade jam. We will be looking forward to our next trip to Sumeru and will be recommending this place to everyone we know.
