Excellent human care
This weekend I stayed at Pousada Valhacouto to celebrate my first year of marriage.
After a very negative experience in another hostel and looking for five more places without feeling well received, I arrived at Pousada Valhacouto already a little tired and frustrated.
But everything changed when I was received by assistant Otávio. From the first moment he was extremely attentive, calmed me, showed me the rooms with a lot of patience and care... and before he even finished presenting everything, I already said: “This is where I will stay”. Only by the care already gave to feel that it would be different.
My whole stay was wonderful. Otávio and all staff were very attentive and kind. I would like to highlight his care because it was the one who was most in contact with me and my husband. Today it is very difficult to find such a human, true and welcoming service as his.
To me, this is Paraty's best hostel. I indicate closed eyes to anyone and every time I return to Paraty, I will definitely stay there again.

Good choice for Paraty
The Pousada Valochouto in Paraty immediately impresses with its excellent location, ideal for visiting the old town and moving comfortably on foot without the need for transport. Another very positive aspect is the size of the room, large and comfortable, definitely above average for this type of structure. Also worth mentioning is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, always friendly and ready to give useful advice, as well as the beautiful swimming pool, well maintained and sunny, perfect for relaxing during the hottest hours of the day. Among the less convincing points, breakfast served only from 8 am is a bit late, especially for those who have excursions or early departures. Also, although the room has a window, it is not closed with glass but only with a wooden paneling, a detail that makes the environment quite noisy and can affect the quality of sleep. Overall, a pleasant structure for location and hospitality, but with some aspects to improve.

Good experience
I loved the hostel. We stayed in the other unit since the main unit was under construction. Divine breakfast, delicious, with special emphasis on Ingrid's kindness and the quality of her cakes. Impossible to eat just one piece! We felt a shortage of a closet with cabides in the room, since there was only one chamber and I had to order a "mancebo" to hang bags and jackets. There was also no room to hang wet bathing clothes, as in the bathroom there is only a towel support. Besides, the room is very good, quiet and the location is perfect - a few steps from the historic center.
