Excellent stay at Cresta President

Staff were accommodating, room spotless, security top-notch..the meals were so nice and were served on time.

Terrible

Nice hotel rooms but the service was terrible. We ordered food and it took over an hour to come out. They didn’t have half the menu available and the waitress said she’d bring menus over and never did, we went and got them ourselves. We finished our drinks and no one came out to take orders again so we decided not to drink anymore . Note, no other guests were here so I don’t understand how the service wasn’t available.

The service from the staff is quite amazing, their patience and care in doing their job is to be desired. Kudos and thank you to everyone that made my stay pleasant and enjoyable.

Overall stay was okay

Overall, I had a good experience. The staff were helpful and the room was comfortable. A few small improvements could be made, but I was satisfied with my stay and would consider returning in the future.

Comfortable rooms and charming staff, but some managerial attention would help

The President is staffed by cheerful, friendly people, but a few things need attention, in particular the restaurant. When the bill arrived for a large and very solid slice of carrot cake with swirls of strawberry jam on top, it was £3 more than the already hefty price on the menu. When I pointed this out and refused to pay the surcharge, restaurant manager said it was the waiter’s fault for not telling me what a slice of cake cost, and the poor man was made to apologise to me the following day.
That evening and the following one, neither of the supper dishes I first chose were available (after consultation with the kitchen!). The substitutes were cooked significantly better on the first night than the second. Coffee at breakfast came from a jar, although the hotel has a coffee machine. When I pulled a face drinking it on the second morning, one of the staff kindly fetched me a cup from the machine.
There was a disco nearby one evening. The room was not soundproof even with the windows shut, so it sounded like someone was having a party at the end of my bed. I asked if I could move into a room on the other side of the building to sleep, but was told none of the other rooms were made up and there was nothing anyone could do. The music finally stopped at midnight.
It’s hard to be mad when the gentle, courteous staff are so nice, but someone needs to get a grip.
