A real gem!

I had a couple of days work to do in Phikwe and wasn’t looking forward to it, as I usually stay in Gabs and didn’t know what to expect, but wow, this place is awesome! A lovely gem of a lodge in the middle of nowhere. Very clean, excellent staff, great food and, most importantly, a good steady supply of cold beer. Great room as well, had good WiFi coverage. All in all, highly recommended and well worth a visit!

Such great potential if maintained well.

In all honesty the place is a great looking rustic place with beautiful trees and plants, ornamentation and attention to detail. You are surrounded by nature and natural materials, all very welcoming! We had the privilege of staying in the #14 chalet as well as at the camp site with friends. The only annoying things were the mosquitos in their hundreds in the room, if only the cleaning staff could spray the rooms prior to us checking in. Then spray once more after they prep the rooms again. The mosquito net helped but not when you need to exit and enter the room throughout the day. The bar at one stage didn’t have ice for our drinks, and no lemonade for Rock/Malawi Shandy. The English breakfast took 65 minutes to prepare at the restaurant which is far too long when you wake up hungry and look forward to the first meal of the day. I would come back again for sure, however better prepared with insect spray. The Guinea fowl roaming the area are a nice sight but they will wake you very early in the mornings. Again I will visit once more for sure!

Botswana Hospitality at its best!

We were stuck at the border post and new due to the time that our large group couldn't drive to our pre-arranged accommodation in the dark (due to elephants, donkeys, cows etc on the road) so I came across this accommodation and am so incredibly grateful we did. The ladies at the desk (and apologies for not remembering names), the wait staff, ladies in the restaurant, the man at the gate and everyone else who helped us to get comfortable especially when the almighty downpour came and we didn't know which side of the accommodation to go as it looked all the same. This place suited our needs for our one night but we could have stayed two if needed. Thank you to everyone at Phokoje Bush lodge. Oh, it was also the 1st January 2019 so it was busy at the border crossing and also on the roads and the staff were so so understanding. A few ladies in our group couldn't stop hugging!!

Really nice lodge in Phikwe

I’ve stayed a few times over the years .
Great place to stay on the outskirts of Phikwe.
Rondavels are good - certainly not modern but comfortable. Parking outside the rondavel so very convenient.
Guinea fowl and Peacocks walking around so great for kids
Good DSTV tv Chanel’s
WiFi AWFUL
Restaurant and bar very pleasant . Breakfast not included in the room price .
Staff are absolutely first class .
The best place to stay in a Phikwe

recommended stopover

We made use of Phokoje Bush lodge as a one night stop over. I can highly recommend the camp site which is clean with well equipped bathroom facilities. On our return we booked a room, which was a pleasant alternative. both camping or other accommodation can be highly recommended.
