Lovely spot with even lovelier host!

A lovely hostel with everything you might need! A little kitchen for cooking (which we did whilst acclimatising) and a gorgeous outside terrace and seating area!
Not to mention the most helpful and lovely host - Nandy. She went out of her way to check us in early, store our luggage and book us taxis. She made our stay so much better!

Great place to stay while exploring La Paz and surrounding area

We ended up staying here for 8 nights total over the course of two weeks heading out of town for a few overnight trips in between. The hostel itself is wonderful. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet, the breakfast is great, there is a kitchen that we cooked dinners in a few nights, and the common areas/terraces are very nice. It is kind of a hotel/hostel mix, you get the best of both. Social common areas and nicer more private rooms. We really liked the location in Sopocachi, there is a grocery store close by, many good bars and restaurants, beautiful plaza avaroa, a gym, and you are still a quick walk or minibus ride from the historical center. Best of all here though was the staff. Ruth and Nandy were both wonderful and it was nice spending time with them in the mornings and learning from them about the city. Ruth booked our tours for Chacaltaya, Uyuni, and Huayna Potosi, which were all incredible. Nandy was very accommodating with our arrival time and other general requests during our stay. Overall would highly recommend the Rendevous for anyone heading to La Paz.

Good hotel, excellent host

Overall a very enjoyable stayed made even better by our amazing hostess Ruth.
Nothing was a problem for Ruth & her genuine & caring nature really came through.
Ruth is an asset to this hotel & it was great to learn Ruth has her own tourist company called Magical Journey Travel Agency (see separate review).
We had a very spacious if slighted dated room but with everything we needed. The common areas in the hotel were very pleasant and the restaurant (unfortunately not operating as of May 2023) looks like it would be fantastic.
The location was very good with some amazing views of the mountains in the distance.
Overall a good hotel made into an excellent stay thanks to Ruth’s kind attentions.

Very hospitable, averige stay

First of all I must mention the flexibility and contact we had with Ruth. Also rhe breakfaat is very good. We had a room on the 3th floor and after we discovered the bed was really sqeeking, we straight away got another room on the 1th floor. Unfortunetely we missed the view from the 3th floor but worst was the noise, it's very noisy espesially on 1st floor, since there is a shared kitchen and also the room nextdoor you can hear everything. And the bathroom ia not up to standard, water is cold and floor gets very wet..

Wow, this is a hidden gem!

I realized today I never wrote a review of Rendezvous (I spent almost a week there in May 2015). I traveled for 3 months through South America and this place is tied for my #1 favorite lodging. The great things included: very comfortable rooms and beds, amazing breakfasts, gourmet dinners from the restaurant (the owner Zac is also a chef), the nice staff, and the DVD collection (each room has a DVD player). They have a library of hundreds of DVDs to borrow. I was traveling solo and liked that it was easy to meet other guests. Zac treated me like an old friend and even gave me a tour of the hotel and shared with me the renovations he did. I hope to return there one day. I highly recommend.
