A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Cayo

Our stay at Yuma's Riverfront Lodge was one of the highlights of our time in Belize. It's a true hidden gem in the Cayo District – peaceful, beautifully designed, and surrounded by nature. You genuinely feel like you're miles away from everything, yet you're only a few minutes from town.
The cabins were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Waking up to the sounds of birds and overlooking the river was simply magical.
What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the hospitality. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. That personal touch made all the difference.
If you're looking for somewhere tranquil, beautiful, and run by wonderful people, I can't recommend Yuma's Riverfront Lodge highly enough. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful Getaway spot

The resort was truly a hidden gem. My husband was able to fish off the bank of the river in front of our private bungalow. The staff were so nice and accommodating. They opened fresh coconut for us to drink. The pool was so nice to have access to. It was quiet and felt so special. I wish we could’ve had a longer stay. All the furnishings felt so specially placed. We just couldn’t get over the whole place. Amazing! We would definitely come back if in the area.

Luxurious Comfort in the Belize Jungle!

Our bungalow at Yuma's Riverfront Lodge was gorgeous! Beautiful, modern design, luxurious bedding, spacious bathroom with rain shower, stocked bar fridge & snacks, and incredible rainforest views from our private deck. The new pool was very refreshing, and the home-cooked breakfast served at their outdoor kitchen before our daily adventures was amazing! Our stay highly exceeded our expectations for the price - it was glorious for our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers). We used Xplore Inland Tours for three adventures near San Ignacio / Santa Elena: (1) Guided Moutain Pine Ridge Tour (including a visit to Rio Frio Cave, then a traditional Belizian picnic lunch, and a stop to swim in pools and waterfalls at Rio On Pools); (2) Guided Cave Tubing at Nohoch Che'en; and (3) Horseback Riding under the rainforest canopy along a beautiful river. This is a smaller, family-run tour operator that gave us private tours for a better price that huge tour operators with giant groups. Best of both worlds - our guides were amazing and we got such personalized service! They even picked us up and dropped us off at Yuma's Riverfront Lodge each day, instead of us having to find our own way into San Ignacio. Perfect! 10/10
Yuma's is not really close enough to town to walk to restaurants or shops, so you either need to rent a car or hire taxis / car services to drive you around. We ended up getting a car service into town for dinner two of the nights (with the help of the lovely resort host), and we had food delivered from a restaurant in town straight to our bungalow another night. So not really a problem - just something to be aware of so you can plan to rent a car or inquire about taxi service & food delivery!

Dear Angela,
Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We’re thrilled your family loved the bungalow, the pool, and our breakfasts before your adventures.
We appreciate you mentioning transportation as well; being tucked away by the river is part of our charm, and we’re always happy to help with taxis, car services, or food delivery.
It was a joy hosting you all. We’d love to welcome you back whenever Belize calls you again.
Warm regards,
The Yuma’s Riverfront Lodge Team

We'll be back!

What a cute resort! The cabanas are adorable and wonderfully appointed. The decks offer beautiful views as you listen to the birds. The pool is one of the best we've been in with a seat in the water the length of the pool. There is plentiful shade at the pool from mid afternoon and on. We used the outdoor kitchen and found it to have what we needed. The staff is so kind and friendly. Very easy to get ahold of and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast is offered and quite yummy.
Yuma's is conveniently located to San Ignacio and Santa Elena, but it's down a dirt/gravel road so it ends up being a safe, quiet refuge. The dirt road isn't on Google, so the location on the map isn't right. It's pretty close to The Tortilla Lady. Taxis and food deliveries know where to find it!
We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It truly made our day. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the cabanas, the riverfront decks, and of course the pool, it’s one of our favorite spots too.
We’re glad the outdoor kitchen had everything you needed and that our team helped make your stay easy and comfortable. Sharing local tips and making guests feel at home is something we genuinely enjoy.
Thank you as well for mentioning the road and the map location, we know Google can be a little tricky out here, so we appreciate you helping future guests find us more easily.
It means a lot to hear that Yuma’s felt like a peaceful refuge for you. We’d be thrilled to welcome you back anytime.
Warm regards from the river,
The Yuma’s Riverfront Lodge Team

A peaceful tropical oasis

What an incredible oasis to land in! Beautiful private cabanas, overlooking the river, waking to the sound of bird calls. The cabana was beautifully decorated and so cozy and clean. Our hosts were incredibly helpful above and beyond, helping us make good decisions about travel and sightseeing, and not only offered restaurant suggestions, but made reservations for us when we came in late after a long day of travel. Highly recommend and hope to be back someday!
