Off the beaten path but peaceful, clean, and relaxing!

Mayan Falls is a little off the beaten path and is a little further south on the island than other resorts but I think that’s what made me like it so much. It’s far enough away that a lot of the rowdy tourists aren’t around, yet there are still attractions nearby. Next door to the hotel is a nice little hole in the wall bar called La Sirenita if you want a night cap. It’s directly next to the airport but the departures are so few that it doesn’t really matter too much.
The facilities were clean. The futon in the living area was new and had a new cover on it. My guest said that it was very comfortable. I was in the bedroom and again very clean with the softest sheets! There were 2 things that I wish they could’ve included. I was in the Yax Suite and I think they need curtains on the bathroom window. There were several times when the next door neighbors could easily see inside the bathroom when they were on their upper deck, unless there was a film over the windows, but I couldn’t tell. And the last request I would make is more towels. Since there’s a pool, it would be nice to have a bath towel and a pool towel. But otherwise, I really loved the accommodation.
Lastly, the pool was amazing! I had a few encounters with other guests and they were all wonderful at the pool. It was clean, peaceful, and relaxing.

Past glory

Mega outdated and poorly maintained apartment it rained during our stay and everything got mega wet and everywhere the water came in, through the frames under the door and even through the holes in the glass front. we had to find something else ourselves.

Clean

I would recommend Mayan fallas it's a very quiet unique place to stay it's 10 minutes from all the tourist traffic . Very clean comfortable and very safe . I would highly recommend Mayan falls. It is 3 minutes away from the airstrip you can walk . There are closed by stores and 2;places to purchase food . It's really easy to get around .. if you come to caye caulker book you rooms know at Mayan falls.

An enjoyable and pretty hotel away from the bustle.

Mayan Falls is on the quieter airport end of Caye Caulker. Initially we were worried that it would be too removed from the busy areas but we found out that it was actually a superior location because it’s still in a beautiful setting and we actually WANTED to retreat to a place of beauty and relative quiet after the crowded activities of the busy days. The hotel is in an improvement phase in 2024 with a new owner - Nick from Ohio, USA - who is incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsible. The prior owner had stopped maintaining the property years ago. Nick has been very busy with renovations and restoring the beauty and atmosphere. Beds and linens are new, great water pressure since the hotel now has its own system. The pool area is really nice. Bottom line, we definitely recommend this hotel when staying on Caye Caulker.

ok property terrible noise from next door bar

Mayan falls really wasnt bad but the bar DurD Woods was loud and we couldnt sleep until 2am.
The bar next door was full of drunk locals and alleged prostitutes. We complained at the bar but they just ignored our requests. Its a shame because the rooms were comfortable but the bar way too loud.
