Verrassende aanrader voor gezellig tafelen!

2 weken geleden na een zware wandeling met de trekrugzak waren wij, een groep van 9 personen, héél blij om eindelijk iets te eten en drinken. We mochten plaatsnemen in een aparte ruimte en het was er heel gezellig. De bediening was een vrouw die héél goed nederlands sprak en een goed gevoel voor humor, we hebben heel hard gelachen. We moesten ons niet houden aan een beperkte kaart ookal waren we met een grotere groep. Eten was lekker en snel geserveerd! Een paar vol-au-vents waren aan de iets koudere kant, maar de smaak maakte het goed. Dus voor een lekkere, eenvoudige en zeer goedkope kaart kan je hier zeker en vast terecht bij het charmante Chez Phil. Aan te raden dus!

A weekend trip

Me and my boyfriend came over to spend a special weekend together. When we arrived and checked in (must pay cash upfront), we were taken to our room. When we were shown our room, it didn’t look anything like in the pictures advertised. The room looks outdated, furniture not comfortable (separate beds pushed together, leaving a wooden bed frame in between with a squeaky mattresses with springs sticking out) and the place looked rather filthy. We used hygienic wipes to clean surfaces and there was dust visible everywhere. The only positive thing was the hot water, which saved us from the freeze at night, from not very well isolated room. Would definitely not recommend it. What a waste of money and time.

Nice surprise

I was a little worried about spending 2 nights here after reading some reviews on another website. There were not a lot of other options anymore (trip last weekend) because of the beautiful weather so we decided to book a double and a single room at Chez Phil. What a pleasant surprise this little hotel. I stayed in a single room which was renewed. It was perfect for one person. Bed had a really good mattress, modern tv, own toilet and shower (small but very good water quality compared to some other showers you sometimes get in hotels). The room was also very clean. It was located on the street side which could be noisy sometimes but not a problem for me because I sleep with earplugs. Even though it was really hot outside (over 30 degrees), it was not too hot in the room. Basic breakfast but certainly enough. The owner, as well as the 2 girls who served our dinner the first evening, were also very friendly.
This place is a very good value for money.

Ideaal gelegen voor uitstapjes in de prachtige omgeving (Lac de Robertville, Lac de Butgenbach, Hoge Venen, ...)
Vriendelijke ontvangst en bediening.
Heerlijk ontbijt.
