Great family holiday
Our package included cleaning. The people complaining and leaving bad reviews seem not to have understood their obligation in this regard. A €150 bond is payable on check-in, and it gets refunded to your bank account (less any breakages etc) a week after departure. Fair enough.
You should be aware of the need to bring *all* kitchen consumables - tea-towels, dishwasher powder, dishwashing liquid, dishcloths/dishwashing brush etc. Also toilet paper, washing liquid, and sheets/towels. Pillows are provided but personally I'd bring your own if you like a good amount of head support.
The washing machine is good but the drier is a condensing type and takes ages to dry anything, it's also quite noisy, as these ones tend to be. Maybe consider bringing a drying rack - or maybe Bruno the owner can buy one?
The free WiFi is centered on the stairwell under the Moulin, so expect other guests to be there sitting at the desk, using the internet. The wiFi coverage extends upstairs in the Moulin to the end of the hallway and into one of the bedrooms, but not really into the main living area. Mobile coverage is present but on the verge of non-existent.
The swimming pool is very nice, salt water and not too hot. There's a good sauna as well that looks over the pool. You can only enter the pool area itself by passing under an automatic shower, so if you aren't swimming and are there just to supervise kids be prepared to get wet ;-)
The Moulin has two fridges, two cookers and crockery/cutlery/searing for about 30 - it seems to be set up as a possible base for people who book the entire complex. Note that the stairs up to the mezzanine have no gate and are very steep, if you have small children maybe consider bringing a stair gate.
There is a coffee percolator that uses large paper filters (BYO) but there is *no* cafetiere or percolator or stovetop espresso maker. Coffee lovers be warned: BYO.
The nearest shops are 10 minutes drive away in Bastogne, which is a really nice large town with every possible holiday amenity including supermarkets, clothes shops, cafes, bars, petrol stations, liquor wholesales and lots more.
In the area is amazing cycling - very smooth, quiet roads through rolling valleys. Highly recommended. There are many, many family-friendly things to do within an hour's drive.
We will definitely return to the Moulin and the area, as we were very happy with the accommodation / service, and in a week we only just started exploring.
