Cobbled joy!

My mate and I stayed here as a base for doing some cycling in Belgium including some of the classic climbs. The hotel was perfect - great location with 3 pubs/restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The owner was a charming and excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean and nicely furnished with comfortable beds. Lovely views, great breakfast and excellent honesty bar. Bike racks in the garden and all safe and secure. Highly recommended - Brilliant place to stay and would love to return.

Worst hotel experience in 46 years!

Worst hotel experience ever!
The behaviour of the operators was very unfriendly. Upon arrival we were immediately informed that breakfast was until 10 am, while on the site it says 10.30. As a joke, I said I'd have breakfast at 9.45 to which the lady replied; then you don't have much time, a not very welcome start. Breakfast 1st day on Sunday was fine, however the 2nd day (we were apparently the only guests) there was no buffet, and we were served by the manager barefoot in flip flops and shaby outfit; not worthy of 4 stars, but good except for the rock hard sandwiches and beeped croissants breakfast was ok.
The misery began when my wife raised a few problems ; no kettle, answer, it was taken!
Our room was not cleaned properly on Sunday; not sucked, no clean towels and the trash cans not emptied. 10 minutes later the manager knocks, rather heatedly on the door to call my wife a liar in a loud tone (my wife had put the dirty towels on the toilet, and not on the floor)!
When he started yelling at her louder and louder and refused to let her speak, I went to the room door too. He started yelling at me even louder and didn't give me a chance to say anything. When he also made a threatening move towards my head, so that I thought he was trying to headbutt me, and he yelled that we had better leave, the size was full for me, and I closed the door, packed it and left after handing in the key, while we had booked for 3 nights! In 45 years of hotel visitation never on such an aggressive approach by an operator. The man seems to have mental problems, or a behavioral disorder, but he is completely unfit to operate a hotel! I'm waiting for his apology and refund of one night.

Top stay!

Spacious, bright room, super friendly exploitation and lovely dog Fiz, great breakfast and fantastic location. Next year we want to make another attempt to cycle up the Koppenberg and then we already know where we want to stay.

Moderate experience

Unfortunately upon arrival, they had "forgotten" to book me for the weekend. After it had some feet in the ground, one could still offer me a room; they were fully booked, but suddenly a room was still available.
Didn't get any explanation, 145 € per night was charged instead of 130 as mentioned in the email I booked with. have dropped the difference.
No possibility to pay by regular bank card.
Cots were pretty good for sleeping.
At the breakfast buffet, I wanted to have a piece of apple pie, but at the first bite it was still 80% frozen, so not really fresh pie.
For me it was not really recommended, unfortunately. Expected more of it
