For this breakfast you would get up an hour earlier!

This family-run hotel is ideal for a stay of several days on the Belgian coast. It is located near the beach of De Panne, close to a stop of the coastal tram and offers its own private parking. The rooms are very neat, the welcome is super friendly and for the rich breakfast buffet you would actually get up an hour earlier! The service is very friendly and helpful, this is a very warm hotel. A real ambassador for De Panne!

Sleepless nights

Last week we made a road trip Belgium and Thursday 7 Aug we had booked this hotel for 2 days for 450 eur for 2 nights. at the reception we got the key to room 11 a de luxe room. once in the room we heard a huge noise and the whole room shook violently. I thought of a military exercise with a tank thundering down the street, I looked outside it turns out to be a tram. we decided to go to reception again to suggest a room exchange in the back of the hotel. Behind the reception desk was the owner and I asked if that was possible, but unfortunately the hotel was full. I asked what time the tram runs and how early in the morning it will run again. he said at 24.00 hrs to 4 hrs in the morning there is no tram. To which I said to the owner; so we can sleep for 4 hours, whereupon he laughingly said yes yes if you are lucky. I was extremely surprised by his remark. I said to him; there is no mention anywhere in the description of the hotel or the hotel room that there is a disturbance from a tram. There is nothing about it when booking. com or at the hotel website. The owner said you should have read the reviews from booking.com, and yes after some scrolling you find out idd that the rooms at the front are very bothered by the tram. But there's nothing written about it by yourself not a single mention. And when I look at my booking on booking.com I can't find that we booked a room at the front, because from previous reviews I read that we knew that. He also blames booking.com. I will verify this with booking.com. My opinion is that the owner deliberately conceals it all and also tends to some error. But this was not all; Of course we wanted to sleep with the windows closed to temper the thunder even more, but there followed the next problem there is no air conditioning and so it is extremely stuffy in the room, resulting in 2 sleepless nights. and oh yes while we are at it; All sealants in the shower are full of mold, hardly any water comes out of the shower head, the sink is cracked, the toilet bowl is full of yellow lime, the pillows are worthless. Is there also a positive note? yes that for sure; the breakfast is fantastic and the mattresses are okay. When checking out by the lady of the house was also not asked how we liked the stay, who probably felt the mood already and probably did not want to confront the direct and mouthed sober Dutchmen. I have stayed in over 300 different hotels and rarely write a review. Conclusion: Mention the inconvenience of the tram on your website and at booking.com. And don't laugh at a Dutchman..... Oh yes you can call me you have my number. on booking.com you can not write a review yet

Geachte

Terrible owner who is aggressive and arrogant

Room booked at 9pm but mistaken day. Had to be day after. Very quickly, an hour and a half after my booking I noticed this and immediately called asking to rebook. The owner wouldn't rebook. If you don't want to, you don't care about people. Zero flexibility from the owner. If you book at 9pm for the same day, the room was just vacant. He has no disadvantage in solving this in a customer-friendly way.
If nothing goes wrong, then there is no problem at this hotel. That is clear from the other reviews. But if any customer friendliness or flexibility is needed, this gentleman will let himself be known. Other reviews say the same thing in similar situations.
Zero empathy, zero solution-oriented, zero compassion.
Provided customer friendliness, this could be solved very easily and he can just show that he makes a difference.
He will do his explanation again as on the other bookers, because he is strong in that. Degoutant, especially his completely unfriendly and aggressive way of dealing on the phone.
I am a frequent trade traveller and have never experienced this approach. Already done hundreds of hotels in my career. But solving problems in a customer-friendly way does not interest the owner. He's got his money and that's all.
So who are you as a human being?
