The Bar, The Intercontinental Hotel, Vienna
Vienna is renowned for its charm and elegance. The Bar at The Intercontinental Hotel on Johannesgasse epitomises these qualities, whilst at the same time offering much more: a warm welcome to residents and regulars alike (even “yours truly”!); a calm but not deadening atmosphere; and an impeccable service from Herr Franz Taverner and his colleagues.

I was living in a room that should be a non smoking room, but when I opened the door, sigar or cigarillos have been smoked there, by earlier guests. Room need to be thoroughly cleaned, carpet need deep cleaning, all curtains and walls need also to be cleaned. Check of each room should be checked by a representative from the management or head of cleaning staff.

Worth a stay
This is a lovely hotel located a 10 minute walk from centre of Vienna
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff - particularly shout out to front of house staff - the doorman picked up my passport I dropped as I got out of transfer car, and receptionist who produced chocolates and vouchers for drinks to calm my nerves.
The hotel is immaculately clean with large cafe area. The bar area is stunning with a list of lovely cocktails and hen I started to sneeze was given small jar of honey for a warm drink to soothe my cough
The only downside is there is no restaurant for evening meals- yes there is some hot food available in bar area but such a grand hotel deserves a restaurant.
I would stay again

Fabulous
This is a beautiful hotel! The lobby is stunning, our room was amazing, the food and bar was awesome and all the staff were phenomenal! A special recognition goes to Vesna Nesterovic whom we got to know at breakfast every morning. Her smile, service and attention to detail along with her wonderful personality made us feel very welcomed and definitely put an extra sparkle on each day!

Home for the Holidays
Returning to this wonderful Vienna Five Star luxury hotel for business meetings during the Christmas Season always feels like coming home for the holidays! Once again, I found everything to be perfect, from room comfort, cleanliness, atmosphere, service and amenities to delicious Austrian specialties served in the Club Lounge. I highly recommend this hotel, and suggest booking early as the Intercontinental quickly sells out in December.
