Encharmed by this lovely family hotel
Hotel Sonne is a cosy hotel with 13 rooms, exploited by the family Schweinberger.
It is located a little bit outside the centre of Tux, which brings peace and quietness. It takes 15 to 20 minutes walking to the centre of Tux, and a little bit more to the gondelbahn. But in the morning and afternoon, you can be brought and picked up by car too. There are a few parking spots in front of the hotel, at the side of the road. The family is welcoming you with authentic Austrian kindness and hospitality. From the very first moment you feel relaxed, comfortable and 'at home'. The rooms are spacious and clean, providing all comfort needed. We had a lovely view and you can enjoy the scenery from the balcony. Rooms have TV and a safe. Wifi is great. The interior of the room might be considered as a bit outdated, but to us, this is of no importance. The bed quality is absolutely outstanding. Every day the rooms are cleaned. My compliments to the staff.
Meals are well prepared, tastfull and plenty. So is breakfast buffet.
Furthermore there is a nice wellness area and there is a well-equiped ski-room.
The charm of the hotel and the kindness of the family is heartwarming. We are already looking forward to spend a another holiday.

Lovely family hosts
A delightful month spent at Hotel Sonne while doing a ski training camp with a team. Melanie and Pepe really are lovely hosts - nothing was ever too much trouble, with the whole hotel team welcoming us into their lives from the first day. Some highlights: sauna; room with big screen for ski video analysis; excellent value for money; very friendly staff with a lovely family atmosphere; varied tasty food (a great breakfast and dinner); spotlessly clean rooms; good ski room. Thanks!

Fantastic hosts
We stayed here for one week with family and friends. Rudi, Christine and Melanie are fantastic hosts. Great service, the food was amazing, the rooms clean and comfortable, the shuttle to the ski lift was a great service and the sauna area added an extra dimension.
We felt well taken care of and are looking forward to our next visit.

Nice stay in Tux.
Before Christmas Time we took 6 days off and went to do ski in Zillertal.
We stayed in hotel Sonne located in Tux, 300m from centre. In hotel there is service for free to ski bus stop, transport is by owner in the morning and in afternoon . It is comfortable option. In front of hotel on oposite side of narrow street there is parking where we left our car for 6 days. It was OK.
Rooms were OK, all what is needed + balkon, only lack of teapot and drinking water as now in new modern hotels. Wellness as in such small hotelnot so big, but fully enough. Everywhere was very clean *****.
We had option HB, very good breakfast and dinners, always on time. A little too expensive drinks for us: beer - 3,5€/ bottle, orange juice - over 2,0€.
There is no space for any kind of party, at 10:00 p.m. you have to stay in your room. No openspace for meetings.
We will remember from stay specially Christin - very nice and friendly waitress, we loved to talk with her. We tried our german language what was really funny :).
We can reco the hotel for pairs, 2-4 persons together, not for teams over 4, because no space where to meet together for fun.

ski holiday
My friend and I have been skiing together for over 20 years each year and have visited many ski resorts all over Europe. We like to have a quiet small hotel with confortable rooms and good food.
Sonne not only provided a friendly homely environment but the breakfast and dinners were varied and excellent. The rooms were clean and kept like that throughout our stay of 6 nights. This is a family hotel and we were treated very well.by all members of the family. The location is up a hill some 250 metres from the bus to the glacier (Hintertux) and a main gondola lift to the higer ski areas. Even at 66 and 63 years old respectively we found no problem in walking up or down if we decided not to use the minibus service provided. It took a mere 5 minutes. Anyone complaining that the minibus was available for them at their convenience should learn to use the legs provided to them. Overall it was a pleasure to stay here and was excellent value for money and we hope for the opportunity of staying again. We hope to use the sauna/spa facilities next time but this time we did not seem to have enough time.
