Excellent stay

This gasthaus gives an excellent stay at a very reasonable price. The location is quiet and nice, still not far away from Schladming center.
The room was nice, with all the main things one would need. The host (who runs this family business started by his father) really knows how to make the guests enjoy the visit. He also gave good tips of what to see and do.
If I go to Schladming again - why not, it is in a very nice area, with other mountaineous villages nearby - I would stay here again.
p.s. the host's wife is responsible for the really beautiful garden, showing really good eye for beauty.

Cozy hotel near Schladming-Dachstein in Austria

This hotel is conveniently located in the Schladming-Dachstein region in Austria, which is excellent for both skying in winter and hiking, outdoor activities in summer. The hotel appears to be family run and has the typical charming alpine design. The rooms are clean and comfortable with perfect views of the Alps. The host is extremely friendly and has expert advice on things to do in the area. The breakfast room was a charm and you have a great choice of meat, cheeses, jams and cereals to choose from for breakfast. Coffee is made on demand or you can use the coffee machine, which gives you the usual options. All in all it was a great scenic location and enjoyable, even if it was just for 1 day. I can thoroughly recommend this location.

Super hotel right on the piste

This is a super hotel right on the piste at Rohrmoos. We stayed for a week and every meal was delicious.
To get to the Schladming ski area, it's only one gondola ride away.
I would throughly recommend this hotel. Although if you're after lively apres-ski, you'd be better looking elsewhere.

Tophotel on toplocation

The very nice and friendly hosts are the greatest assets of this hotel. Also a great location next to the piste, good rooms and great food. There is also a well equiped wellness area with sauna's, steam cabine and whirlpool.
We had a wonderful time!

Kurzurlaub zum Skifahren

Wir haben sehr spontan gebucht und hatten super Glück mit dem Sporthof.
Das Hotel scheint einen bereits renovierten Teil und einen älteren Teil zu haben.
Wir haben ein Doppelzimmer im älteren Teil gehabt. Ja, es war altbackend (beige Fließen, blauer Teppich, u.ä.) aber es war sehr sauber, man hatte alles was man brauchte und auch die Größe des Zimmers hat vollkommen gereicht.
Der extra Skiraum mit Schuhtrockner bot genug Platz für alle Gäste und das absolute Highlight: man geht exakt 10 Meter, dann steht man auf der Piste!! Genial! (Siehe Foto: vom Zimmerbalkon aufgenommen mit direkten Blick auf die Piste!)
Auch der Wellnessbereich sah gut aus: Dampfbad, Sauna, Ruheraum. Wir selbst haben nur kurz rein geschaut und nicht genutzt, aber der Eindruck war gut.
Neben Piste und Zimmern ist auch Essen und Service wichtig:
Service: sehr sehr nett! Mehr kann man nicht sagen!
Essen: das Frühstücksbüffett war grundsolide. Kaffeevariationen, Müsli, Eier, Marmeladen, Aufschnitt und Käse —> alles da und lecker!
Das Abendessen war mit drei Gängen und einem Salatbuffett ausreichend und auch hier trifft es das Wort „solide“ wieder gut! Keine Sterneküche aber man wird lecker satt.
Wer also ein Hotel ohne Schnörkel und Chichi, dafür aber mit netten Gastgebern direkt an der Piste sucht, ist hier richtig!
