Choose this hotel to stay

Very good located hotel with nice well furnished rooms. Breakfast is good including local baked wonders. Staff and owner is very helpful and kind. We had a very good experience staying here.
Area has interesting things to do, small wonderful town, skilift, mountain walks, worth to discover it. Choose this hotel to stay.

Owner is super rude.

Was there last year and was hesitant to write a review as I had mixed feeling about my stay.. The place is owned by a family. The woman and her daughter were the nicest most accommodating hosts one could have. I made mistake by ordering a single room as I was not aware that the bed is for one person (totally my mistake). The female owner, who did not speak much English and her daughter went above and behind to help and I was very great-full and pleased with the outcome. My interaction with the owner was not as good, to say the least. The following day to my arrival I kindly asked him what to do with the gear that was left in my locker and felt that he was super rude and upset, he went to my lockers and just tossed the gear to the side and said “here”. I did not give much thought about it as I thought he had a bad day or something. Felt his bad energy again the following day and just thought it was strange. On the check out day I realized that my bill was not as agreed and very politely inquire about it and wanted a line by line explanation (without asking for a discount or anything) and his reply was “I’m not going to explain it, don’t have time, it is what it is”.i kindly asked him if this the service he wants ppl to mentioned on their review and he changes his attitude right away. Although I was not in agreement the charges I paid it with out complaining. I was in owe of his attitude as I was always kind and nice to him and was not sure why he was so rude (my only guess is that he does not like Americans or ppl of certain religion/origion). Other that that there was absolute no reason for his behavior. It was that impactful that even 12 months later I still think of it and wanted to speak to him on my last visit to this town two weeks ago. Anyway. Besides him, place is clean and the cafe is great. My last stay was at a hotel hotel 1km down the street (Rigele Royal) and was much much better (food, spa, facility and room condition). Enjoy Obertauern!!!

A wonderful short break

A great hotel...stayed there for 3 nights...everything was great, the room was very nice, all the staff were very friendly, an excellent breakfast and the Lungau region is a dream in itself! I would love to come back!

Great hotel with a bakery

It was the best choice to stay here. We had a great ski trip and by traveling by car it was no problem to get from the hotel to the slopes. The hotel is in fairy tale village and it has its own bakery right next to it. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the breakfast is delicious. We will definitely come next year again!

Good bakery with great products

We were passing by and were in the mood for coffee. The coffee was great! It was served with a little biscuit and a small glass of (tap)water. We also ordered 2 pieces of cake. Both pieces were fresh & tasted great!
The waitress was kind.
Outside there is a nice terrace.
Prices are okay.
