Saved our lives

Fantastic hotel and wonderful owners. Story time... during Spring break 2019, my college friend Ben and I hiked across the Alps during our semester abroad in Vienna. We started In Innsbruck and ended up in Obern after our first day of hiking. Needless to say, we were tired, hungry and exhausted. Nightfall was upon us and we couldn't find a place to stay as it was not tourist season. Not a single hotel was open. We decided to go up into the woods near the village and set up camp. Unfortunately, our tent wasn't working and the supplies we packed weren't sufficient for the frigid mountain nights (23F, -5C). We were out of options and freezing to death was a distinct possibility. Ben and I decided to go try our luck in back in town. We chose to approach the Landhotel Wolf as it was the only building in the whole village with any sign of life. We were greeted by the hotel owner who was still awake in his office doing late-night work. He was a very kind gentleman and was deeply intrigued as to why two American college kids were at his doorstep half frozen in the dead of March. After we explained ourselves in haphazard österreichischen Deutsch he chuckled and kindly lent us a place to stay in the workout room for the night (as none of the hotel rooms were made). We graciously accepted and slept soundly on yoga mats and towels. Best sleep ever. We offered to pay him in the morning but he refused and instead gave us advice on routes to take and wished us luck on our journey. We owe the owners of Landhotel Wolf a debt of gratitude and thanks for having saved us from a brutal mountain death. Best Austrian Berghotel ever!

short trip

The two ladies, that's just not acceptable for a hotel, or rather a guesthouse. They walk around like they're in Mallorca at the Ballermann. And the best of all, they sunbathe half naked on the guest terrace. Where is the decency towards the guests? We wanted to speak to the owner about it, but he is rarely there.

Decent room with nice balcony, good breakfast.

We stayed 3 nights with 2 friends. Room is clean and balcony is large. Nice to sit in the evening for a drink. Breakfast is fresh, good. They offered to bake eggs for us, which we did not decline ofcourse. Hosts are very friendly, want to help with all your questions. Rooms are in german/austrian wooden style.

Best hotel in the neighbourhood

It is worthwile to go there.
We have been for several times in the area, trying different hotels with mixed success, until we found landhotel Wolf. Ever since then we stayed there we use this hotel as our standard hotel for our hikes in the far neigbourhood.
We come from Belgium so it is hard to estimate arrival due to traffic. You can arrive in the middle of the night and they will be there waiting for your arrival. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and the breakfast is fresh and tasty, as well as the coffee which is a big deal for me. The owner Esko is a hiker/alpin climber/mountainbiker/ski specialist himself so whatever questions about suggestions or trips you have he will always be able to answer them with a smile. They also have a cozy bar if you choose to hang out and have a social drink. The hotel is at the end of a dead road with a view on the mountains so it is always quiet around there, but very close to a number of towns. We will be coming again for sure.
