Always happy

Very nice guesthouse. We've been here 3 times. Everything is very cutely decorated. Lots of bookshelves in case the weather is bad. Nice sauna to warm up in the evening. Lots of towels and bathrobes. Even washcloths. Good breakfast. Opposite is a good butcher's shop with delicious meatloaf rolls. You can also eat there, but it's impossible without pre-ordering.
Very nice landlady. Really. I can't understand how you can describe her as unfriendly and the atmosphere as uncomfortable. She is super nice, and of course you get an egg. And in the ski cellar there is a bowl of treats. Chocolate and stuff. And it is suuuuper cozy here. We love it here. The cleaner Martina is also really lovely. Our house fairy. We'd be happy to come back anytime.

Nice pension with small weaknesses

We went skiing in Lech over Easter and stayed at the Pension Hartenfels. The rooms were very clean and attractively furnished. Unfortunately, we had a room in the attic with a sloping roof. Extremely inconvenient for a grown man. The bathroom had a tub without a shower curtain and the hose from the shower head was so short that you had to wash yourself sitting down. That was really annoying.
The bed had an extremely soft mattress. That's a matter of taste, of course. It wasn't for me and led to bad sleep and back pain.
The breakfast was good and met our expectations. When we specifically asked for a soft-boiled egg, we were also given a soft-boiled egg - although this extra request was not met with much enthusiasm and was promptly answered with a question as to whether hard-boiled eggs were not enough. Apart from that, the staff were generally very friendly!
Overall, the Hartenfels is a nice pension in a good and quiet location - with one or two weaknesses that I cannot leave uncommented given the high price of €242 per night for a double room with a sloping roof.

Excellent pension for skiing in Lech, good value

The pension was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The rooms were large and the balcony was great to sit out on. The bathroom was modern and there were plenty of cupboards. Tea kettle in the room. Good variety in the breakfast buffet. Excellent location for skiing in Lech. Separate ski room with heaters for boots.

Worst experience ever, extremely unfriendly owners

Don't ever stay at this place! We knew we would arrive late in the evening (around 10 pm) and asked via booking.com as well as by e-mail if this was okay. We got a reply, saying "we will gladly wait for you". When we arrived, an older man (very probably the owner) opened the door and didn't say anything, just glared at us. We then said we booked a room to which he replied "I don't think so". Very confused (thinking maybe we were at the wrong place) we gave our name and asked if he was sure to which he said "our guests don't arrive this late". When we said we communicated via e-mail, he interrupted us and said he doesn't care about e-mails, the latest arrival time is 8pm. He said he would make an exception and let us inside. We tried to stay friendly and said we had a long drive from Zurich, his reply "Zurich isn't that far". Incredibly rude! (He knew exactly who we were, because he had our key ready) All this was a real slap in the face and not the start to a nice weekend we had been looking forward to.
The next morning we overheard an argument between the wife of this man and another guest, where she was saying "first you arrive very late, you don't apologise to my husband who had to stay awake for you" and other things. This guest tried to stay calm and reasonable (saying he did in fact say sorry) but she kept accusing him. We honestly couldn't believe the incredible rudeness of these people!
Also the Wireless Internet didn't work and the bed was way too soft.

Nice

Nice place, I'm in a big room with shared balcony overlooking the Lech. Big badroom comfortable bed.The room is very nicely decorated like the whole house. Frendly staff. I would stay again. Don't visit Lech in the off season , all shops are closed so are all the lifts up to the mountains.

Very good location
