Top price in summer

Although in a good spot in Winter right by one of the gondolas, in summer it may be considered a bit out of the centre if you want to shop. You have to drive through the gondola car park to get to the hotel! Which, if walking, could prove a bit harrowing for ladies at night.
The room was fine but the reception area was mostly deserted giving the feeling that it was end of season. Check in could have been a bit more helpful.
The meals were fairly rustic and without choice but the staff were nice and friendly. Tossed up as to whether to give three or four stars but it was the value that made me up it in the end.

We keep returning - says it all!

We have been staying at the Gungau, on and off, for twenty years and during that time we have seen this fabulous, family run, hotel respond to the needs and demands of modern travellers.
The en-suite rooms have everything you need including balconies with beautiful views, cable TV and free wifi. Typically for Austria, the only thing lacking is tea and coffee making facilities!
Everywhere is kept spotlessly clean and the food is fantastic.
The location, being right next to the Zwolferkogel cable car, is ideal for winter skiing or summer hiking/mountain biking.
The friendly owners and restaurant staff speak good English and nothing is too much trouble.
Cannot recommend highly enough and can't wait for our next visit!

Amazing place to stay

Stayed for a week in Jan , Can't fault a thing from the amazing food to the brilliant staff , nothing is to much trouble .
Rooms are big with stunning views, couldn't be in a better position right at the bottom of the ski run 50 yds from the lift.
Will defiantly be staying again such a lovely family friendly hotel .

Best location for skiing

Best location if you are there for skiing, directly at the cable car station.
This is a rather small hotel but quite nice, modern rooms and food is decent, only for the early birds there is a hurdele as breakfast starts at 8h only.
There is sauna and steam bath( no pool).
And its just a fee meters to the center, however nothing is far in that village.

Perfect location

This hotel is just like average 3 stars hotel. Food and staff are on a very good level. Best thing about this hotel is its location - it is really close to the main skilift. Hotel is quiet and comfortable.
