An excellent luxury base for a ski trip.

I stayed at this hotel with my adult daughter for a ski trip in early January. We chose the hotel having stayed there previously and found it to be excellent in every respect.
The rooms are reasonably spacious and well-appointed. They are serviced well every day with frequent changes of towels and provision of quality bathroom products.
Food in the restaurant is excellent. Breakfast is an extensive buffet which is constantly refreshed. There is a very good range of quality juices, fruits, breads, meats and smoked salmon. The small range of hot options are freshly cooked although there is no live cooking station. Dinners are varied with options for starters, soups and mains which are selected at dinner.
The hotel is conveniently located with a ski bus stop immediately outside the excellent ski and boot room where every room has an individual heated locker. Alternatively, it is a short walk uphill to the gondola station. Buses go to Fugen, Hochfugen and Kaltenbach.

Very dated hotel

In the past been in this hotel a lot 2009-2015 now in transit and booked 1 night ; rooms very dated (1980’s) food also very moderate .
This hotel runs on the good name of the past but will really have to invest.

Rarely slept so poorly

I don't know how some people here can give 5 points. We couldn't sleep at all because it was way too hot in the room and there is no air conditioning whatsoever. Opening the window wide meant that you had the traffic noise in the room, which was little improved by the fact that we were kindly given a room on the garden side. Unfortunately, the locals just drive like crazy up this small street. Room apparently from the 80s; you shower in the bathtub in a 4-square-meter cubicle and are glad not to break your neck when getting out. The lady at the reception was super friendly and helpful, but the problem is simply the backlog of renovations and the strong discrepancy between the price segment and the hotel's amenities / self-perception.

The price-performance ratio is right.

Perfectly fine for the price, large spa area, everything clean, friendly service, good food. Location is not quite as good, but you know that beforehand.

Fantastic hotel, superb food, facilities, service and location

This is a fabulous hotel, one of the best we have ever stayed in for skiing (and we have stayed in a lot). The service, food, location, facilities and comfort are all outstanding. The hotel has a lovely garden and outdoor space which even in early March, were coming into bloom, filled with birdsong and yet peaceful too. Fantastic ski storage area, beautifully appointed with everything you could need. Ski bus stops outside going in both directions. Food was superb at each of breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, with many Austrian/Tirolean specialties. Excellent Austrian wine, do let the highly knowledgeable and personable sommelier, Michael, guide you through what is on offer.
The wider ski area of Hochzillertal, and the Zillertal itself, are on the doorstep of this delightful town Fugen.
A wonderful stay, we hope to return before too long. Thank you Gartenhotel Crystal.
