We had a really lovely weekend at Peppers. The gardens were beautiful, room comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. We’ll be making it a regular escape from the city.

Could be better
Historic property located just outside Moss Vale. There are rooms in the Manor House which are the Manor Queen Rooms and the Elizabeth Broughton Suite. Other rooms are located in the Garden Wing which face both the garden or the back. There are also hillside cottages separate to the main building. We stayed in the manor house even though we were offered an upgrade to the garden suite for the atmosphere. Room 7 is right at the end of the corridor and has an attached bathroom. The bed was comfy. Given how cold it was I was surprised there were no room slippers provided. Also the fridge had a tendency to freeze the contents even though we had it set to the proper thermostat level. Coffee (moccona) and tea provided along with biscuits. I liked that the room provided had vestibule. As it was middle of the week the usual buffet breakfast was substituted as ala carte offering on the first night but a buffet on the second night. (Breakfast is held in the Katers restaurant) In all a please stay but as other reviewers have previously mentioned it is past its prime.

Lovely Manor House
Just had a beautiful four night stay at this Manor House. Lovely grounds, heaps of little bunnies hopping around, kangaroos and lots of bird life. Great swimming pool, tennis courts and a lovely restaurant and bar. Lovely meals in Kater Restaurant and The Nook Bar and most of the staff were very friendly. There were also markets on Saturday morning in the grounds so that was a nice bonus. Great getaway for a few days and only a couple of hours from home. Close to Berrima and Bowral and lots of wineries.
Will definitely return to Peppers in the future.

We had booked a king room for two nights. Unfortunately it did not suit us and the wonderful Susie moved us to the garden wing which was excellent. King bed was so comfortable and a big bathroom. Large screen TV and the room was huge. Our first night was up the short driveway to the cabin like rooms. So strongly recommend the garden wing which is closer to the restaurant and the grand hall with the open fireplace. There is another guest lounge with open fireplace which was so cozy. Breakfast was excellent with good variety. We ate dinner in Katers restaurant and the food was excellent. All the staff were very efficient and friendly. Would definitely stay again but in the garden wing.

Of its time .. but in a good way
My wife and I have stayed in a few establishments that have had their glory days. It's hard to maintain that standard. I have to say that Peppers Manor House is doing a pretty good job. Helped out by the fact that homely, comfortable and stately is not a bad start for a stay in the Southern Highlands, Pepers Manor House is all those things but also welcoming (apart from a slightly slow check-in) and hospitable. The grounds are lovely (if somewhat overtaken by rabbits currently) and of course the location close to the magic little towns of Moss Vale, Berrima, Bowral, Mittagong and Burradoo makes it the perfect 'home base' for a 5-7 day stay.
