I had an amazing experience at this hostel right in the heart of Fremantle. The location is perfect — close to all the local attractions, cafes, and vibrant markets. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to offer helpful tips on exploring the city.
The hostel itself is clean, modern, and comfortably furnished. I appreciated the social atmosphere, which made meeting fellow travelers easy and enjoyable. The communal areas were lively yet relaxing, ideal for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting a budget-friendly, convenient, and enjoyable stay in Fremantle. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The Freo Experience

After staying here since October 2024, I can honestly that this little hostel is a hidden gem of a place to stay. It’s a brilliant hostel to make friends in, their open plan space makes it really easy to get involved with people. The vibes are chilled during the day, with multiple things to do - being in the centre of Fremantle you are a 5 minute walk away from Bathers Beach, which on its day is a glorious sun trap with a pub right next to it. You’re also in walking distance of some great local brewery’s such as Gage Roads and Little Creatures. Next, the train station and bus station are also a 5 minute walk away giving you fantastic access all over Perth.
Overall, it feels like home away from home.

Revolting

I came here in 2020 and whilst I met some great people, the hostel leaves much to be desired.
1) the showers are filthy, they are not cleaned (I know this because they employ people who stay at the hostel to 'work for accommodation' and whilst we had to clean certain areas, it was not done thoroughly;
2) They allow criminals to stay in the hostel;
3)The hostel overall is filthy - besides the showers, the mattresses are old, thing, lumpy and very worn out. The rooms all stink and for what you get, it is extortionate to pay so much for a crappy bed in what can only be described as worse than a prison;
4) The rooms are tiny and cramped;
5) No one is around to enforce any rules about the level of noise - some people had early mornings, including myself sometimes, and it is very irritating that you can't have a proper night's sleep (as well as the lumpy, smelly and old mattresses) because of the noise;
6) AVOID at all costs. There are way better and cheaper places around Fremantle and it will make your stay SO much better!

Really cozy, clean and with a great Vibe. The building is not a modern one so don't expect nothing fancy but that is the beauty of it in my opinion.
I define recommend it.
