Not so happy!

The place it self is fine for what you pay. I’m okay with that. However don’t arrive after 10pm as you might end up sleeping in your car and not have any apology from the staff who attended to my query about after hours check in! The staff member who answered my query - was really rude, couldn’t have cared less he gave me incorrect advice about checking in after hours which could have potentially seen me spend the night in the car after interstate travel, a long drive from the airport to get there! Not a nice way to be welcomed to North Tassie! Has really turned me off visiting this part of the state again!

We are sorry for your experience and sincerely sorry that you were not provided the correct information by staff. We are currently in the process of installing a new simple system for out of hours check ins - however, there is no excuse for not providing you with the correct information in relation to how to access your room. We will address this with all staff.

Great location

Nice little town and the property is situated opposite a beach. Our double room while not large, was adequate and had the bonus of our own hand basin but with a plug which would not plug. Mattress could do with replacing. Sadly the kitchen was a disgrace at 4.00pm and was somewhat worse at 10.00pm. Travellers clean up after yourself as the sign in the kitchen indicates! Next morning the cleaning staff had washed all the dishes and cleaned the benches, apparently something they have to do all the time. There were 3 showers and 2 toilets and while old, were clean. Hot water was starting to run out by the end of the shower. The 2 guest lounges were good with the morning sun beaming into the smaller one. TVs in both. However replace/repair the couch! Plenty of facilities with irons, washing machines etc. Wi-Fi was excellent. Certainly worth its tariff.

Return visit

Once again we had a good stay and found the establishment much cleaner and tidier this time - fewer guests than in Summer. Quiet overnight meant for a restful sleep.Sadly though the couch had still not been repaired/replaced and the mattress was as lumpy as before. On the plus side, the large lounge was easily warmed with a large electric heater and the laundry was well equipped. Even though we arrived at a very busy time for the bar staff, they checked us in efficiently.

Very clean

When we arrived it took us a long time to find anyone (there isn't a reception). Someone eventually came to the bar and was very friendly, but couldn't find our booking. ( I think we'd booked through hostel world). Luckily they had space and once we'd shown them the
confirmation they showed us to a very clean room. The bathrooms and kitchens were immaculate. Unfortunately the cookers weren't working, so we had to cook our meal in the microwave. The staff weren't aware of this and did say they'd get them fixed the next day so I think we were just unlucky. It was very quiet whilst we were there(we didn't see anyone else in the hostel part)

Very good location
