no bags allowed in lynbrook hotel

i have been going to this place for about 5 years all of a sudden a security guard tells me to leave my bag at the front counter or i cant go in and was told everyone has to only to see others with there bags and backpacks in the place. i know you can take bags in because i go there all the time and take my bag in.
I'm not leaving my valuables at the front counter. This is a hotel that has a buffet and sportsbar. Ive never been to a tab venue, sportsbar, buffet restaurant or hotel that says people have to leave there bags at the front or they cant go in. Normally at a hotel people ask if they can leave things at the front counter if its something like heavy luggage and are never told you have to leave a bag that has things like a wallet and other things at the front or you cant go in. In all my years of going to hotels no ones ever said that. Trust the customers or lose customers. i wont be going back. Avoid this place.

Expensive without quality choices

This review is for the buffet. Despite being a top end of the range priced luncheon the Hotel failed to cater for people with varying dietary needs. There was only one dish out of the extensive buffet signed as vegetarian. There were no vegan options in the mains or the desserts. At $45 per head this was appalling. Staff tried to assist however management was not receptive to feedback that they should provide a range of dietary choices with both vegetarian and vegan options clearly labeled. Having to ask for a chef to come out of the kitchen to address common dietary needs is very inferior.

For a quaility meal keep driving

There are only 2 choices of eating places. One is all you can eat. At $36. The other we choose was the sportsman’s bar .
The menus script was so small that i needed reading glasses to read it (font size about6). No large print was available
I ordered the chicken Parma without cheese. When the meal finally appeared after what seamed like a long time it was a huge piece of deep fried coated chicken on a large serve of limp chips . No salad ; virtually no tomato sauce and two slices of very thin round ham (not grilled)
The meal would have been good twenty years ago in a out back pub. But i choose this on its looks and its write up.
How looks can deceive. My friend had the same with cheese.
It was so appetising that we both left over have the meal on the plate.
I cant comment on the all you can eat BUT it all comes from the same kitchen (i presume)
If your looking for a quality meal keep driving.
If you value quantity over quality drop in.

Locals not welcome it seems.

Called the hotel to make a booking for a local weekend getaway but when I said I’m coming from Clyde, the receptionist turned me down and said they were only taking interstate bookings. I asked why, and she replied with “coz we have had too many issues with locals” I said” well that’s not me.” But I was still declined. Not sure where on their website it says interstate clients only! They should not be turning locals away without confirming if it’s an adult or teens booking in as teens tend to be the ones that leave a mess. They also can hold a bond for such things. Very disappointed! Just wanted a quiet night away that wasn’t far from our kids and also in great condition. Was always supportive of this establishment but now have been let down.
