This hotel is in my opinion the best one in Cloncurry. The rooms are a good size and clean and comfy beds (which for us is a must) their meals are nice too

A little disappointed.

Unfortunately, our experience at the Gidgee Inn Motel was disappointing. My Mum’s room had a lingering odor from leftover food in the bin, and she even found chicken bones on the floor, highlighting a lack of cleanliness. Despite staying several nights and leaving the sign on the door requesting the room be made up, it was not attended to. We followed the instructions to leave towels on the bathroom floor indicating we would like them replaced, but when we returned late in the evening after reception had closed, the towels were still on the floor and wet for our next morning early departure. Overall, we were a bit let down, especially since it is considered the best place to stay in Cloncurry.

Highly recommended

Fabulous tasteful decor of rustic outback with ochre coloured rough walls and corrugated iron touches. Even the towels followed the ochre theme. Big comfy bed. A number of PowerPoints. A fan and air con. Great shower and room for toiletries in bathroom. (We had larger room with table and balcony.) Free guest laundry. Friendly helpful staff. The restaurant was great - the duck and steak were brilliant.

Nicest accom’s in the Curry

The bathroom alone is bigger than a donga.
I see the restaurant has changed a bit, used to be very expensive, now seems there’s fewer options but much more reasonable prices for meals. Heaps of (undercover) parking that’ll fit a mine site compliant LV ie. ROPs and lights/beacon plus the overflow for trailers etc.
Lads said the pool needs a clean and a chlorine bomb. Traffic noise was a lot louder than I expected but room was nice and dark and WiFi worked (though I couldn’t find password details anywhere in my room).
Getting pedantic here but access to the powerpoints in the microwave recess was annoying. 3 bottles of water in the fridge, heaps of milks, instant coffee, sugars, biscuits etc were very welcome
